Stayed for couple of nights mixing business with pleasure. Can't understand some of the previous bad reviews....I found it to be really good. Big room with all facilities and great bar/restaurant in scenic area. Of course it's by the road, nothing you can do about that. My room was at the front and traffic noise was not an issue (just...

A nice place with some atmosphere. Room large and bed very comfortable. But beware right on A4 with traffic all night long and secondary glazing not good enough to drown out the noise. Restaurant OK but limited menu and my main meal - red schnapper with Thai stir fried vegetables - came with a lot of cucumber and virtually no...

Room 7 was large and well decorated, but unfortunately directly overlooked the A4 and was extremely noisy. Water in the shower alternated between hot and cold and the shower cubicle could not have been smaller. Full English breakfast was very good.

I had the unfortunate 'pleasure' of checking in here on Sunday 17th July as was passing and exhausted, just looking for a room. I assumed the hotel might be busy so booked ahead on Booking.com - first mistake to book ahead! I was 'checked in' by the woman behind the bar and was made to feel like an inconvenience -...

My Mum & I stayed here for a short break in July. The cost was £100 for B&B. Not the best room,(no.5) not the most polite afternoon bar staff! Our room had an awful view & smell from kitchen. We have definately stayed in better accomodation for this price.

A warm summers night drive for us, with the roof down, across the Marlborough Downs, spying the crop circles on our way...a perfect evening enhanced further by our visit to The Pelican We arrived mid evening and had no intention to eat, the inn was not full by any stretch of the imagination, but everyone that was there, was eating...

Three of us arrived at 5pm on a Monday for a few drinks and nibbles. The place looks nice from the road. Unfortunately the experience went south from the moment we ordered food. Food is served from 6 and we ordered at 6. We were told that 3 of the 4 things we had ordered had ran out... The food...

Stayed here for a couple of nights, very frosty reception from the blonde girl at the bar. Made you feel as welcome as a rash. The room (7) had hair all over the bathroom, and was very tired just like I was in the morning from the traffic noise from the A4 ysrd from the window. Plenty of better places...

Booked for two nights at The Pelican Inn for our wedding anniversary. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely room (#3) which was huge and bed was very comfortable. Lovely touches, such as bottled water in the room, lots of tea and coffee with a cold flask of fresh milk. Breakfasts were superb and reasonably priced evening meals. We...

We always wanted to try this place when we go to Marlborough for a day out.At last we have tried, the place is very nice, clean and spacious, but unfortunately was let down by the Sunday lunch. We both ordered the Lamb which had loads of fat & gristle in between the meat, pots were warm, but the veggies were fine.Shame, perhaps we shall try again sometime.
