My Mum & I stayed here for a short break in July. The cost was £100 for B&B. Not the best room,(no.5) not the most polite afternoon bar staff! Our room had an awful view & smell from kitchen. We have definately stayed in better accomodation for this price.

A warm summers night drive for us, with the roof down, across the Marlborough Downs, spying the crop circles on our way...a perfect evening enhanced further by our visit to The Pelican We arrived mid evening and had no intention to eat, the inn was not full by any stretch of the imagination, but everyone that was there, was eating...

Three of us arrived at 5pm on a Monday for a few drinks and nibbles. The place looks nice from the road. Unfortunately the experience went south from the moment we ordered food. Food is served from 6 and we ordered at 6. We were told that 3 of the 4 things we had ordered had ran out... The food...

Stayed here for a couple of nights, very frosty reception from the blonde girl at the bar. Made you feel as welcome as a rash. The room (7) had hair all over the bathroom, and was very tired just like I was in the morning from the traffic noise from the A4 ysrd from the window. Plenty of better places...

Booked for two nights at The Pelican Inn for our wedding anniversary. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely room (#3) which was huge and bed was very comfortable. Lovely touches, such as bottled water in the room, lots of tea and coffee with a cold flask of fresh milk. Breakfasts were superb and reasonably priced evening meals. We...

We always wanted to try this place when we go to Marlborough for a day out.At last we have tried, the place is very nice, clean and spacious, but unfortunately was let down by the Sunday lunch. We both ordered the Lamb which had loads of fat & gristle in between the meat, pots were warm, but the veggies were fine.Shame, perhaps we shall try again sometime.

My partner and I stayed for two nights for a wedding in May. Lovely bar and gardens with wonderful views. The staff on arrival were very welcoming and helpful. We did not eat in over the two evenings due to family meals out however the fish & chips looked and smelt delightful. The restaurant was full and we noticed locals...

Had double room (on my own!), which was good and comfortable (but don't like duvets!) - try for a sheet and blanket? Quite a bit of noise on front road side rooms - particularly the 'bikers'. Try for a room on the quiet rear? Quite a nice older building. Staff quite willing and pleasant. Good dinner in the restaurant. Next...

We were on strange territory and looking for somewhere to get a coffee and something to eat for breakfast and suddenly came across The Pelican. Not only were we served with an excellent carafe of coffee, but we also ordered a couple of bacon sandwiches which were excellent. Then to top it off - we were offered a refill of...
