The hotel is in a great location at the top of this pretty walled town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, organising a wine tour for us before we arrived. The (free) car park is a short walk away with a few steps, and the whole town is accessible by foot.

I never thought I would stay in a hotel that are allowed dogs. I was always worried the rooms will have a strong dog smell. This place far from it, I have a small dog and this time I had nobody to leave him with. So here we went, my sons, husband and the dog!!! Great place, Virginia helped us...

The hotel is in the walled part of the town with no parking, however you can be lucky and park in the road, you do need to walk up some steps. The welcome was very warm and friendly. The hotel which is a castle is small and full of character, perfectly positioned in Laguardia which is a very charming village...

Castillo El Collado is small hotel (10 rooms) in a genuine palace originally built by one of the twelfth century kings of Navarre and rebuilt in the 18th century. Our room and that of one of our traveling companions were large, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The experience is comparable to that of staying in one of the more luxurious...

This is a nice12th-century stone castle located in central in Laguardia. The room was pleasant, large and clean and the staff friendly and helpful particularly lovely Virginia. There is no onsite parking however this was not an issue for us at all. We did not have any problems with parking during our stay. Yes we did have to wheel our...

Hotel has no parking so you are reliant on finding street parking or a place in a (free) public car park but spaces very hard to come by. At 2 pm on a Friday we took the last space in the nearest public car park approx. 200 metres away via steps and talking to other guests they had not been...

We were two couples traveling together on a trip from Barcelona through Rioja. We did a lot of research and were debating between the Castillo and Hospederia de los Pajes and opted for the Castillo and were thrilled we did. While the rooms are not the fanciest I've ever seen, they were very clean and comfortable and well situated (on...

We spent 3 nights at Castillo El Collado. It is just outside the old city. A great location. A great breakfast served to your table. We could walk to the old town just above the hotel. We especially enjoyed beautiful receptionist, Berjinia, (I know I am spelling her name wrong. We had Gin and Tonics on the walkway. The bodegas in...

We enjoyed our stay here. The views were fabulous and our room / bathroom were huge. The breakfast was great. The only negative is that somewhere in the valley someone seems to have a whole bunch of dogs that kept on barking. We just closed our windows facing that valley and we slept fine.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A castle from the begining of the 19th century and restored in 1996. It has ten rooms and each one is named after an influential person of Laguardia and the Kingdom of Navarra. The decoration of the castle is an example of good taste and sobriety, not missing the fine elegance that enraptures visitors, who come here to spend their time in this idyllic and harmounious paradise with beautiful views full of the local colour. There are three very old function rooms decorated with Arabian ceramics and handcrafted coffered ceiling from the beginning of the 19th century worthy of note. Your expectations to enjoy the extensive menu of traditional dishes from the Basque and La Rioja cuisine will come true. The symphony of light from these handcrafted rooms will leave you with a feeling of tranquility and appreciation of art. ... more   less
