Nice hotel with lovely staff but they need some lessons in presentation. I was part of a big group and our table was uninviting to say the least. Creased table cloth, no placemats, no glasses, no flowers or other decoration. One night we waited 40 minutes for our meal even though it had been ordered in the morning and in...

Our daughter's wedding reception was held here, and we stayed for two nights. The wedding meal on the Saturday was excellent and was well and efficiently served. The reception room was very pleasant, with round tables. The accommodation was comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is surrounded by attractive grounds in a quiet part of the town with...

We visited Craigiebield House as part of our honeymoon recently. We were in room 3 which overlooked the front of the hotel. The day we arrived there was some village celebrations going on and the pub was packed. We went into Edinburgh and when we got back it was in full party mode!! We have a 3 year old daughter...

Just back from a last minute night in this lovely hotel. The staff were very attentive indeed. The room we were given was lovely but the mattress was not the best. I called down and asked if they had any rooms with foam mattresses as i have a bad back and sleep on foam at home, the manager didnt hesitate...

We didn't stay in the hotel so cannot comment on that, but did however have a beautiful meal here. We ordered the "home made burger with cheese" which came with hand cut thick chips, home made coleslaw and a a ciabatta style bap with some salad. I am quite fussy with burgers as I make my own from scratch and...

Booked this last minute and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, staff and food compared to the cost. I would definitely recommend the hotel for couple's, groups and older families. The location in a quiet village is only 20 mins from Edinburgh so very convenient. The only negative would be the restaurant prices which were a bit pricey.

Just completed a 3 night stay at this hotel, which we both enjoyed. The room although small was very comfortable, clean and warm. On the Saturday night we were concerned about the level of noise from the live band in the bar, but they finished at 11pm and we were not disturbed after this. Breakfast was very good each morning...

Quite simply, this has got to be one of my favourite hotels (and I have stayed at quite a few in my time). Not only are the rooms comfortable and clean but the food is excellent (do not miss out on the full English). But most of all the service in this pretty little hotel is second to none. Both...
