Stayed here for the first three days of our holiday to just rest up enjoy the scenery and walks. Perfect. The owner sat with us at breakfast, sorted us out a superb bit of bird watching despite the rain and ensured we were well sorted out in understanding the confusing differences in Portugal, such as sizes of meals. All these things got us off to a very good start on a tour of the region. Take care we hope to see you again.…
Cozy place, nice home design and clean, good location and view. BUT: First the location is confuse to get there bc GPS gives you a way by the historical streets and by car you cannot get there. You should turn back and get out from Mértola and at the bridge turn left when you see "Casa Visconde de Bouzões". The room had lots of ants and my friend woke up with them walking in the bed. They loose with this actitud.…
This small B&B, 5 rooms only, is situated inside the walls of the old city. The interior is rustic and authentic. The atmosphere is friendly. Breakfast is not optional, but may be ordered. We spent two nights there, and plan to be back one day. They could have signposted it better, as we had a hard time finding it, even with a GPS.…
On arrival we got lost in the tiny streets so they came out to find us and showed us where we could park - just outside!! As we were the only guests we were offered the choice of two rooms. Both lovely. The breakfast was fresh and a good choice. Very kind and nothing was too much trouble. Very quiet area with beautiful views over the Guadiana River.…
Castelo Inn is a charming old house with a unique location inside the old city walls in Mertola. It is within walking distance of all the major attractions and the small bars and restaurants of the town. The rooms are spacious and cool with ensuite bathrooms. Parking can be an issue but we managed to find a spot just a minute away from the house. …
