Enjoyed visiting the town by the and staying in this hotel overlooking the river. Modern with nice rooms with good view. Good value. Easy walk to the castle and rest of town. Has a welcome pool in the heat and shares a terrace where you can have drinks though service patchy. Go on the lovely boat trip late afternoon or first thing as very natural.

Quite possibly the nicest room I've ever had for €50. Spacious, comfortable, clean modern bathroom and a large balcony with a view of the Rio Guadiana. There is even a small "museum" in the basement with Roman ruins! The staff were friendly and welcoming. We didn't eat any meals in the hotel, breakfast would have been an extra €8. Highly recommended

This is a nice hotel, in a great location, with interesting exposed ruins of 12th-century residences. The room was clean and perfectly adequate, but the noise audible within the room was appalling, shouting and the scraping of chairs in the bar below the room. I had to go and sit in the car for a while to escape it (and this was December). The window didn’t shut properly, which let in noise from the street. We told them about this, but they didn’t do anything. On the up side, there was a lovely cat called Luca. The Dutch woman on reception was extremely pleasant and helpful.

This is a smaller hotel than the 5 star luxury hotels that many tours use but the staff and attention to detail definitely bring it up to that level. I arrived at the hotel after suffering a serious bike accident. Since the hotel is on a small street, the staff immediately moved any barriers to make the entrance easily accessible for me. Next I was amazed to realize that one of the people at the reception desk came out with their personal rolling desk chair which became my "wheelchair" for 2 days. I don't know what I would have done without it. I hope I took good enough care of it to return it to its owner in perfect condition. They immediately moved my husband and I to the handicapped room which made life much easier with handrails in the bathroom and a chair in the shower. True, the shower is small but that actually worked out well for me. I wish I could tell you about the beautiful views and more about the archeology of the area. We will have to return to do that. I can tell you about the delicious meals in the restaurant attached and the kindness of the people who work there. Any hotel that cares that much about their guests deserves a visit from anyone looking to stay in the area. Thanks again. Hope to see you soon.
