We arrived off season to a nice warm smile. The room was very big, nicely furnished and as we ate in, the kitchenette was also sufficient for our cooking. We didn't try it but their breakfast looked amazing. The grounds were a little unkempt but it was the end of the season. I guess the only stain was the 2 big German Shepherds tied up on long chains Auschwitz style as you enter the grounds :( also the little doggy tied up by the chickens :( so if you're coming please bring some little snacks for them and give them a little love. On the flip side the grounds also had, donkeys, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, goats and a little beautiful baby deer. :)

This place calls itself an Agriturismo, but the setting of its air-conditioned room is rather professional with a reasonably reliable Wi-Fi connectivity. Some of the facilities on the yard, like the playground, are run-down, but the surroundings look (in my layman’s eyes) authentic like a real Portuguese farm. The breakfast deserves a special mention as it was a total feast of various (beyond) delicious cakes and pastries. Absolutely wonderful! The owner’s English was at the same level as my Portuguese but the conversations via Google Translate went well. For 50 EUR for two persons a night including breakfast, Monte da Galega is an excellent place to stay when you’re in this region.

Very nice and quite place. The owner was just the nicest person - very talkative, very hard working, very helpful...she even let us choose our room!! :) (probably because we went there in a not so busy time). The breakfast was delicious - almost everything was homemade (if not everything). We loved our stay here and will definitely tell our friends about it.

Monte da Galega is a great spot in Alentejo. The Monte is beutiful with a tipical local architecture, the bedrooms are huge and very comfortable and the pool and other communal áreas are great. It's perfectly located just 5 minuts away from a small beach on the river and a village. Carmo, the owner, is a fantastic women and sure knows how to host and take care of you. She has transformed this Monte in a charming place with great atmosphere. Ah and of course, the breakfast. Well, the breakfast....once in a while I find myself still thinking about it :)

This was the most memorable farmstay in Portugal we've had so far. The family was welcoming and extremely accommodating with our needs (very early breakfast for my husband who was fasting). The room was big and beautifully decorated, the swimming pool large enough for a good refreshing swim. We loved the breakfast layout which gave opportunity for interaction with the rest of the guests. The breakfast was superb - delicious fresh breads, cake, home produce like cheeses and jams...everything well presented with a lot of care and love. The setting itself is beautiful - good location for exploring nearby lake and towns and a good quiet environment for those who just want to relax and recharge. I wish we had stayed longer!
