We stayed here one night and had a comfy room and large bathroom. Cosy and quiet. We ate in the bar and the food was pub grub and tasty. We had a deal and would return with a deal. Decor was a little dated but friendliness of staff made up for it. B

We only went in for a lunch with friends. It is a pub at the heart of the community, serving good food and drink. We were made very welcome and look forward to returning. As we didn't stay overnight, we can't comment on the accommodation, but we were struck by the cleanliness downstairs.

The Grapes Hotel is well located in the middle of the village and could do with a bit of an update. The room we stayed in had the washbasin in the room with an en suite shower and Loo. It was a bit upsetting to find that the only other couple staying had paid half of what we had by...

We stayed two nights in Newcastleton and ate here both nights as the food was so good. The pub itself is average inside, a little dark if you sit in the back bit and I didn't particularly like eating surrounded by dogs. However, the food was amazing. Served in about 40 minutes and the portions were huge. The chicken curry...

Stayed here for 3nts at the end of a trip around Scotland. Peter, Gayle and staff were excellent hosts and nothing was too much for them. I had a double ensuite room that was really cozy and warm. It had a large bathroom but I found the shower cubical a tad on the small side but that is probably down...

Just spent 5 days at the Grapes Hotel in Newcastleton. Hotel was excellent and I would recommend . The room was clean and warm with fresh towels everyday. The meals were very good maybe a bit too much in quantity but could not fault the quality, especially the sweets 😃. Thank you to Gail and Peter for their hospitality. Hope...

Myself and my girlfriend decided on a last minute trip away. Initially we wanted kielder but could not find anywhere that was available so looked further afield. Stumbled across the grapes hotel in newcastleton. Why not, we thought? When we got there we were greeted with a medium sized functional room with bottled water, teas, coffees and a kettle and...

Very nice accommodation, lovely meals and would definitely recommend to others. The wi-fi wasnt working when we were there but it was a temporary issue but overall a very nice stay and very welcoming hosts.

Stayed here as we were visiting the Kielder Observatory. First impressions not good as wasn't sure were to check in and had to ask some locals in the lounge. Room 1 was small and cold. Realised the radiator was turned off. Plenty of tea, coffe, milk, biscuits and toiletries. Bed was fairly comfortable. Bathroom was huge but only a small...

We booked a double room on Expedia & was happy for our young son to share the bed but was offered a larger family room on arrival owing to a cancellation. We were happy to overlook the damp on the wall and the blocked toilet but neither of the bedside lamps worked, the matress was old & uncomfortable and the...

I didn't realise you were charge extra for the change in rooms, if you come again please let me know and I will sort something out. The damp on the wall should of been explained to you that it wasn't damp it was storm damage and it was in hand to be fixed. The bed side lights what can I...
