The rooms were clean enough, with shared bathroom. The place is in need of some maintenance/renovation. The reception was very slow and cumbersome. Why the competent bar staff couldn't have that responsibility is a mystery. The walk to the international airport is about 40 minutes.

The stqff was very friendly and helpful. The Food was delicious. The room was very clean and they had everything I needed. The bathroom was shared, which was a bit uncomfortable but didn't take away from the enjoyment. It was easy to book in. I had a good stay

We only stayed here one night (thankfully otherwise we would have had to move) as we needed to be at Ramsgate early the next day. It served it's purpose, just not too well. The pub downstairs is okay, though no food available on Saturday night. We went out in the street, bought some take away (there's a few options within 5 minute walk) and brought it back to the pub to eat it and have a couple of drinks. Pub was quiet. Staff were okay. Accommodation area was okay, but the room let the experience down. All night, even though the windows were double glazed, the randomly cycling noise from adjacent commercial air conditioner made sleep difficult. There was also occasional street noise, even though we were towards the back of the building on the third floor. There were no other guests around, thankfully, as there was only one male one female shower + toilet around us. There was a good (small) kitchen area though. Sleep quality 2/10 - we had a twin room. My bed was hard (which usually suits me) but the mattress was lumpy. The room light was incorporated in a ceiling fan with wireless remote controller. The light kept coming on randomly throughout the night, and no matter how many times we turned it off, within 30-60 minutes, it would come back on. There is no air conditioning in the room / on the floor level, and although there was one spare blanket for the bed, it was borderline too cold to sleep. Typically for the area, accommodation is expensive, here we paid $85.00 for the Saturday night. They do say there is on-site parking, but we got a parking spot directly out the front of the hotel on the road. Would we return? Only if there was no other choice.

The room was tiny, and very poor quality. You only get a small bed without duna covers, a sink and a bar fridge, and an aircon. Bathroom was shared inspite of the ad saying otherwise (hence better off going to a hostel). Neighbours were extremely loud, slamming doors every half hour. You don't hear the slot machines or smell the second hand cigarette smoke from your rooms like you do in the Libby which is a plus. It's a cheap bed, nothing else.

I ordered a wagyu steak and couscous for $42. I got cheap roast beef sliced up with something much more like lentils than cous cous and a little French mustard. The waiter didn't seem to understand basic English. When I ordered a wagyu steak he offered me a $16 steak sandwich. When I said I was very disappointed with the meal, he didn't seem to understand at all. I will not visit again.

I stayed at Grand hotel rockdale from 01/03/23 until 04/03/23 as i was in Sydney for medical reasons. I requested a room far from the main entrance and stairs ( as I needed to rest) which the hotel accomodated and i am grateful for. It was decent room for a budget accomodation and the room was serviced.

However the sink in the room (303) was coming off the wall which needed repair. It was clearly a health and safety issue. Not sure why the cleaners has not reported to housekeeping / management dept about it. I was concerned about using it or leaning on it as it might fall on my feet. That sink need to be fixed. The curtain also was not very clean (white patches like chalk) was on it.

Otherwise it was a good stay, had a good sleep and bed was comfy.

Was as expected for a budget type room, TV worked, room was clean , bed was comfortable. Food in the Restaurant downstairs was good and priced well. Friendly and Helpful Staff. would stay there again, just didn't like the stairs up to the rooms because i have issues with my back and legs. in essence its a Pub Room, for a short stay its fine.

Very basic room, quite a climb up the stairs to get to it, shared toilets and constant buzz of traffic and city life. But this is what I expected for the price and proximity to the airport. Can’t complain. Checked-in, in the afternoon , bathed and left for work. Came back around 10pm, had a few drinks at the bar downstairs and went to sleep. Got up very early next morning, bathed and left for the airport. Served my purpose as a solo male traveller on a business trip, but definitely won’t suit everyone.
