Got picked up at airstrip about 20 minutes away from camp. Roads are very bumpy and rock the vehicle with a fair amount of sand. If you have spine problems this area may not be the place for you. That being said it was a great experience. Above ground tents are nicely appointed. Maximum guests are about 12 so it's...

We spent 2 nights at Little Kwara at the beginning of June. 3 of the 4 camps we went to were run by Kwando Safaris, and the experience was similar in all. The staff were all local Botswanans, which we appreciated, and were very friendly and helpful, if a little reserved till we got to know them. The accommodation was...

We were a family with a 13 and 16 year old. The tents are large and comfy. It was a bit chilly at night, but they gave us ample bedding and a bushbaby to stay warm. All of the game drives were quite eventful. We saw 3 of the 5 major animals as soon as we got off the airplane....

We adored Little Kwara camp - from the outstanding game viewing (we saw cheetah, lion, leopard, wild dogs and lots more) to the incredible personal service, the fantastic food (four meals a day!) and lovely setting. With five tents, it's intimate and personal, yet our tent was quiet and felt very private. What some others call 'regimented', I call well...

Little Kwara was our 2nd Kwando camp on our first trip to Botswana and 4th to Africa. The rooms and grounds are comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. But, I agree with others that the daily activities and camp style is way too regimented. They are rigid about serving the meals at a precise time, which is very annoying. We...

I have just read the first few of the other reviews and agree totally with them. Especially the parts about how regimented it is. The food was great, and we enjoyed eating with everyone except that even though the food was ready, we had to wait for everyone to get back from their game drives and shower (if they wanted...

We fully enjoyed Little Kwara, had great animal sightings and the best guide and tracker we have every met. Chester and Robbie were outstanding, even serving our sundowners while parked next to a lioness who was trying desperately to dig a warthog out of an aardvark hole! Our room (#1) was totally private, insect free and well finished and comfortable....

We had somewhat mixed feelings about Little Kwara. On the one hand it’s a beautiful camp, with lovely rooms, pretty good food and a pretty area of the Okavango. On the other hand there were a few aspects that we found a bit disappointing. Firstly the positives: - The driver guides and trackers were good and did know how to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
'Intimate' and 'personal' are core Kwando Safaris values. The vast wilderness areas in which our camps are located are known for their remoteness and high quality wilderness experience. With the intoxicating sunsets, tranquillity and endless horizons, most people are reluctant to leave! In order for a camp to be included in the Kwando Safaris circuit, it must have the following characteristics: • Intimate and personal - no more than 18 guests per camp • Allow the sounds of nature to dominate • Be managed by experienced and talented citizens of Botswana with motivated and caring staff • Embody the unique Kwando 'Guide and Tracker experience' • Be staffed with guides with the experience and personalities to ensure that no activity is dull! • Limit each game drive vehicle to a maximum of six guests • Have structures that are semi permanent ensuring minimal impact on the environment • Demonstrate environmental best practices in daily operations including the use of renewable energy sources. ... more   less
