Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfect hotel for a stopover in Saumur. The rooms are clean and functional, but the decor is simple. The breakfasts are pleasant, with good products.
Convenient to access and well located for visiting Saumur and the surrounding area.
The staff are welcoming and attentive.
We liked it.

We (2 adult a 5 year old and 85 yo Nan) stayed 1 night on our way south. It's a clean modern basic "Travelodge" type place. The room was fine and there was easy access and a lift. Breakfast was slightly disappointing as the bread had mould on it. It's a few miles from Saumur and as there were only 2 meaty grill places nearby we drove to Saumur to eat. There is a petrol station and supermarket next door which was handy. Would I book again? Probably not but it was OK for what we needed.

The hotel itself is fine. Basic but functional for a stopover through France. The manager however is a threatening, angry, disgusting man who thinks it's acceptable to swear at a family with small children. If you have a family AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Small hotel in a commercial area outside of Saumur, which explains the price. Not easy to find, we drove around the area 20m before finding it.
Check-in smooth and gentleman at front desk was friendly.
Room was clean but they forgot our bath towels and we had to ask. Also no shower gel in the bathroom, so we had to use our own toiletries.
Bed OK, quiet at night so we got some decent sleep. Decided not to have breakfast in the morning, so no idea of its quality.

We stayed overnight (4 rooms) during one of the hottest weeks (temperatures soaring to 39 Celsius) - on a last minute booking & were so pleased with our stay. The owner Phillipe was welcoming, helpful & ensured the air conditioning was on. The hotel is new with modern designs & fitted out with all the mod cons today's travellers expect. Rooms & bathrooms are compact with utilitarian toiletries - but everything was fine. Breakfast is an extra Euro 8 & well worth it.

Located in an industrial area with shopping & restaurants nearby - its a good & reasonably priced hotel to use as a base to explore the surrounding areas. Not a luxury stay but ticks all the boxes for a comfortable stay. Definitely recommend for short stays & if you have your own transport.

We stayed there a couple of times in the last few weeks.
The rooms are all refurbished with a contemporary finish and are comfortable in an environment calm despite being situated in a commercial district.
The manager is service oriented and pleasant enough to shell out dining recommendations in the surroundings...
Overall, very good value for money...

We had booked a week in Saumur to stay at Saumur Campanile. We had a voice mail message as we were leaving home to catch the ferry to say that they had double booked one of our rooms for one of the nights and that we would have to find alternative accommodation for that night. When we arrived at the Campanile there was no moving them. After much argument they contacted the Brit hotel 5 minutes drive away and suggested we go there. The manager at the Brit was so helpful and even haggled on the price. Clean rooms, friendly manager, decent breakfast. Such a contrast to the attitude of Campanile.

Room Tip: Get a room at the rear of the hotel. Guests chatting at the front of the hotel kept us awake

Booked at last moment and only hotel left in area with a room but it was very good. Clean and friendly staff (and dogs!). Its the middle of an industrial estate and no bar/restaurant when we were there. Breakfast fine.

Name isn't quite right - its not in the middle of Saumur about 5 miles out but an easy drive in.

We're a family of four and had one room which was fine for one night (not sure you'd stay longer to be honest if on leisure trip).
