We felt so fortunate to have stayed here, and had the chance to try different rooms on a couple weekends. The stately mansion is well-maintained in all ways and nicely decorated. Although the location is near (walking distance) to the center of the small town of Castle Cary, the grounds feel very private. It was amusing to watch the robot...

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome, our hosts were charming and attentive without being any way intrusive and the standard of food just excellent. I stayed one night while walking the Monarch's Way and what a joy to find myself here after a long raining day of trudging. A beautiful home, very friendly hosts, scones to restore my strength ... and then the room! It was a double-storey room if you can imagine, with the second storey being a gigantic bathroom with freestanding bath...

One of the best B&Bs in England, this delightful house in the centre of Castle Cary is perfect in every way. Every little detail has been thought of, making this an incredibly comfortable and hospitable place to stay under the thoughtful eyes of Chris and Maggie. Comfortable and spacious bedrooms, delicious breakfast with spectacular house and setting. We hope to...

We stayed there for two nights at this beautifully kept house. From the moment we arrived Chris and Maggie were delightful and made us feel like family rather than guests. Our room was large, with a lovely en-suite bathroom (with roll top bath) and both immaculately kept, as indeed is the rest of the house. Breakfasts are to die for...

Genial hosts, really nice people that treated us as friends .This is 6 Star rating in a magnificent location and with luxury accommodation. Michelin star type dinner, our own wine, and a swim in the morning before a breakfast spread that left us wanting for nothing!

We have just, reluctantly, spent one night with Chris and Maggie at The Old Vicarage. Reluctantly, because we would have loved to spend much more time with them in their wonderful B&B. We were welcomed as if we were old friends, offered tea and the most gorgeous cakes on arrival, and spent far to short a time chatting with our...

Without doubt this B&B has to be one of the best in the UK for its location, quality, service AND food. The very peaceful surroundings and gardens make it a very relaxing place to unwind a bit during traveling over several weeks. The town of Castle Cary, only walking distance away, is a lovely place to visit. The rooms are...

To say we enjoyed our stay would be a huge understatement, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel like old friends, the property and grounds are stunning, immaculately maintained, spotlessly clean and the whole place just oozes with charm and class as do the owners Chris and Maggie. The food was amazing, from the welcoming cakes and...
