Stayed for one night, including dining, by way of celebrating husbands birthday. The building is a bit unprepossessing from the outside, but the indoor spaces are charming. The greeting on arrival was courteous, but a little reserved - not what I would describe as a warm welcome. However, we were shown to our room and offered coffee or tea either...

For me, what makes a good place to stay, is somewhere where the owners have really thought about the detail. At Pilgrims there is detail in abundance. From the rooms, to the food and the people who run it, it was just all so well thought out. Sally and Jools are lovely, approachable people and have thought about how comfortable...

Everything about our stay at Pilgrims was perfect. The rooms are beautiful, high ceilings with wooden beams and a beautful modern bathroom, and everything has been thought of right down to your own cafetierre. The food in the restaurant was outstanding, proper cider available for fans like me too. The full English breakfast was genuinely the best I've ever eaten...

On their menu, they say that they might serve the best Sunday Lunch. And I think they are correct. It was a classic Sunday roast and it was as good as it gets.Great local beef and lamb. Lots of vegetables. Proper puddings. A very good wine list. Worth a visit if you are not staying there. I guess a reservation...

My wife and i stayed here for just one night. The room and faciiities were first class - a very comfortable bed and very good, spacious bathroom. There are only five bedrooms and we found it very quiet and peaceful (they do not allow children). Breakfast was first class. We had dinner there and I have reviewed this seperately.

On arriving at the Pilgrims, we were met by the owner, who could not have been more welcoming. My colleague and I were looking for somewhere close to where we were working and with a bit of character, which we found in abundance. There are not many rooms, but what they had were well fitted out and functional, with comfy...

Myself and my fiancé stayed here whilst scoping out accommodation for our wedding . We are getting married in Somerset and wanted to find some venues our guests could stay. Well , what can I say? The warmest welcome , the most beautiful of rooms and the food and wine was fantastic . Credit where credit is due , the...

We went to the Pilgrims for our wedding anniversary and a week later are back again having dinner with friends. The food is delicious and I always have the prawns! Followed by fish as I think their fish dishes are superb. Yesterday (as I had been the week before) I had the lamb which was cooked just right. Somehow we...

We had a lovely relaxing stay for 2 nights. The rooms have everything you could possibly need lovely thick white fluffy towels roll top bath and walk in shower. Every flavour of tea and also hot chocolate and coffee. Very comfy bed and the room was always warm. We ate in the restaurant and had a fabulous dinner on New...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pilgrims is a 4 star Restaurant with Rooms and holds 2 AA Rosettes. It's as relaxed as a country pub but the food is better than many a city restaurant - not least because all the ingredients come from 'just over the brow of the hill.' And the rooms are simply stunning, Egyptian cotton, king size beds, roll top baths and walk-in showers. The Pilgrims - the best of Somerset on a plate. ... more   less
