The location of the hotel came as a plus point, it was a few minutes walk from Asakusa train station. It is also close to tourist attractions Sensoji Temple, and many food or snack outlets which is recommended online for tourist. The room was a little small as we have difficulties moving our luggage around in the room. The hotel... More

The staff were really kind and helpful, going so far as to give us the location of a chemist for insect bite cream! Our view was okay; we were high enough to see some skyline. I don't know if there is a side overlooking Asukusa temple, but that may be worth an ask as the temple was just behind. Breakfast... More

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and it was so nice! The location is great and just 2 minutes walk away from Senso-ji Temple. You can easily access the Train Station if you're heading to another part of Tokyo. The staff are really friendly as well. Highly recommend!

Location next to Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise (great for souvenirs). Close to convenience stores with ATM. Close to McDonald's, KFC and Starbucks. Close to many small Japanese restaurants. The only negative is it is a bit far, around a 10-minute walk, from Asakusa Station for Ginza Line and Tobu Skytree Line and even further for Asakusa Line. One stop away... More

This was my third trip to Tokyo and first stay at the Via Inn and I highly recommend that hotel for the reasons that follow. I stayed there from August 7 thru 11th. = 4 nights for under ¥ 20000 tax included. Good price, excellent value. The premisses are very clean and the hotel is very well appointed. First, welcome... We enjoyed our stay at the Via Inn. It's in the heart of asakusa and backs onto the famous temple. Easy access to a number of shops and resturaunts and helpful staff with a decent enough grasp of English which is great. The room is small but not better or worse than what we've come to expect in budget hotels... More

They do room for family of 4 which I think it is very good, the room is spacious even with 4 beds which is rare in city. We had a nice view from the hotel room, directly facing the temple. However, bathroom can be little bigger as we found it little too small.

Not much to add from all of the other reviews. 3 star business hotel with rooms on the smaller side and a bathroom that is on par with other Japanese hotels i.e. small. What we enjoyed was walking to and from dinner at night through the temple to the hotel. You get a different perspective at night than during the... More

Check in was simple and quick, even at 1:30am. The hotel is easy to access from Asakusa subway station - walk past Starbucks and keep going, and the hotel is about 5 minutes away on the left. It's extremely well located for Senso-Ji, and the surrounding markets. The room was simple but comfortable, with a good sized bed, normal amenities,... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
