Location: ~5-7 min walk from Nezu station. Situated in a residential area away from the bustling touristy areas. It was quite challenging to locate the hostel and you have to walk past small alleys/ mazes of houses. Quite dark and poorly-lit at night. ~15 min walk to Ueno station through the lovely Ueno park. 2 onsens within 3 min walk...

Since it has been upgraded, it's even better than previously, as it now has an elevator which makes it easier when checking in. The Café is great. Interesting breakfast and the best Mocha my daughter had tasted. Staff are are all very helpful, friendly and polite. It's a trendy tokyo style youthful hotel with a mix of interesting global visitors...

The staff were all very nice and they all speak fluent english. The room is clean with comfortable furnishings. The breakfast was excellent, I had never expected the breakfast in a hotel can be that good.

Good if ya looking for a discount place with communal kitchen, laundry, dining area, lounge, TV zone, bicycles. Not the best for cleanliness and room service. Reception n Cafe are superb though. Amenities closeby are basically the main museums, precinct tombs n shrines. No particular great places to eat at. Access in/out from the main road is somewhat convoluted maze...

Overall, I am satisfied with this hostel.. not a HOTEL. Therefore, anyone who expects the kinda hotel service will be disappointed. The facility and breakfast are good but it feels quite expensive. Cleaning service is not good, becuase the keeper just did basic things, hairs and dust were still there during 3 days... the distnance from station is little far,...

This is a good option, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. For one, after an extremely long flight I was forced to wait around in their cafe for three hours until checkin. Normally, I'd just explore, but I was exhausted. Aside from that, some of the staff is *wonderful* and very friendly, however certain people from...

I stayed for 3 nights with my partner and found all the staff very friendly & extremely helpful. The hotel is close to everything you need, but the hotel also has a cafe with great coffee. I recommend staying here :)

The dorm was clean, comfortable and easy to use. Lovely to have a towel and locker included. Even though many of the rooms were hotel rooms, it still had a friendly atmosphere. The staff were excellent, and allowed me to check in close to 1am. Loved the tofu sandwich on offer at the cafe. Breakfast was not included but was...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
