everything was ok, just standard 4* hotel. the thing I liked was two kinds of breakfast: Japanese and western one. when abroad I always choose local, so my evaluation of Japanese served as a set is positive. it was terrible hot (because of sun rays) in the room, the air conditioning didn't work...

We booked a standard triple room with Skytree view and stayed here for 5 nights. The room was a bit dated, but space and facilities were alright for 3 pax of us. The Skytree view from the room was great during day and night. However, noted that no complimentary bottled water in the room like other hotels that we used...

I stayed here last year and then came back again , based on comfort, convenience, views, attractions nearby and proximity to airport Keisei Skyliner at Ueno. I love running, and found plenty of great morning runs from the hotel- try running down to Ueno park- it's very peaceful. Turn down the street behind the hotel and it takes you all...

We stayed for four nights. The location is great with lots of restaurants close by. You can walk to the shrine and the river cruise. Breakfast buffet was great We walked to the zoo to see the panda. The staff were lovely. There is a big supermarket right next door. We used the metro and the buses and there is...

I only got to spend one night in this lovely hotel, which was a pity as it was by far the nicest hotel I stayed in during my trip to Japan. I booked through a web site and so wasn't expecting a 'view' room but my room was on an upper floor with the most amazing view of Tokyo. I...

Rooms are big enough but their carpets are very very dirty and the covers on the bed as well. I was scared of touching them. But apart from that everything is good. There is a safe in the room. Buffet breakfast on the 26th floor was excellent ! And it has a view on sky tree tower. They have both...

Our travel agency arranged this accommodation for us on our first week in Tokyo. The breakfast is better than most of the other places we spent our vacation in in Japan and the view is beautiful from the restaurant as the sun comes up. The location is unbeatable if you're interested in roaming the old city - it's just a...

I've been staying here nearly a week now, and have found this hotel very comfortable and its concierge and desk services really excellent. Though on a busy street (which makes it easy to find), the rooms are quiet, with no outside noise. Askakusa View offers in-house etheret and wi-fi connections (free), some rooms have mini-fridges and there are several small...

The hotel room was large in comparison to other Japanese hotels. Some of the rooms and the restaurant have excellent view of Tokyo Skytree. Breakfast was amazing with soo many options to chose from. The hotel and the rooms are bit dated, and was not as clean, felt dusty. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
