Stayed in this residential hotel on two reservations. Location is perfect if you want to stay in Asakusa. Direct train from Haneda airport to Asakusa station (Keikyu line). Closest metro is Ginza line (Tawaramachi or Asakusa stations - both around 5-10 minutes walk). Close is also Asakusa line, though it is a few minutes walking further than Ginza line. Good...

Excellent location, very close to the temple and right in the middle of the restaurant/market area. Fairly low ambient noise, and the first class double glazed windows shut out everything else. Small well designed apartment with everything you need (including washer/dryer). Large 24 hour supermarket 100m away. Train and ferry both easy walking distance. Amazingly the managed to fit an...

Really like a boutique hotel in a perfect location. Charming Asakusa neighborhood away from the highrises and bustle but in the middle of a lovely tourist area. The room was so comfortable. Didn't use all the amenities, kitchenette, washer/dryer but if we were there at the end of our trip rather than the beginning, we would have. Don't miss the...

The room is like an apartment, small but modern and clean with a fully equipped kitchen, fridge and microwave. The shower is great, they offer free amenities and the beds are very comfortable and big. The Asakusa area is both traditional and design full of cool bars, restaurants and stores and supermarkets so it is perfect for a night out,...

Great location, helpful staff, lots of home appliances, but small rooms. We enjoyed staying at this place for one week in the middle of the vibrant neighborhood of Asakusa. Lots of eating places, a nearby market and many pedestrian-only streets.

Clean hotel. Nice historical area. I stayed there for a week in the middle of my three week trip to Korea and Japan. Kitchen and washing machine were blessings. Walk-in wardrobe was a good surprise. Tokyo metro system is very good, I did not mind the location. Great value for the price! Definitely I would stay there again.

It took a little while to locate the hotel but we were happy with the unit and location. The room was a bit small to what we were used to but half way through a trip a washing machine is appreciated. It is surrounded by eateries some welcoming English speaking tourists and some not. Smoking in the restaurants was our...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
