I'm currently spending my last night in this hotel and I'm not sure what the bad reviews are all about!? The room is a little smaller than hotels in other countries but you only sleep in it, right? And it it's the same with all Japanese hotels, not just this one! The bed is comfy, the pillows are a little...

Overall, I give this hotel 5/5 stars. For most people from USA, standard/deluxe single room will look too small, but you will get over it after a few hours! If you are a really big person, you might not like it at all. Bed, pillows, towels, all comfy and clean. Everyday, they provide you with hair brush, tooth brush with...

Room: Very small but typical of Tokyo. Very clean. Complete toiletries. If you're a large person, it will be a tight fit. Specially if you have 2 medium sizes luggages. The bed and pillows, though, were the worst. Too soft. Killed my roommates back and neck. Imagine having to sleep (or lack thereof) there for 5 nights. It was excruciating....

I had stayed at an APA hotel previously not too far away and only a couple days ago and it was by far a good experience. However, what happened today was highly unexpected. Whether it's this certain hotel that is at fault or the one I stayed at was just too good. First off, check in, a long and unwelcoming...

Great hotel for a short stay. Rooms are small as always in major cities business hotels in Japan. Great location and good breakfast buffet. Checkibg may be challenging as staff possess only limited English skills. Overall, definitely recommend.

When we went to watch SUMO at national sports hall, we stayed there. As well we went sightseeing to ASAKUSA that is walk distance away. There is a large public bath on the top floor. During staying, you can use it. This is Japanese style public bath. You enjoy it and are very comfortable in it. You can choose buffe...

This is a hotel with a good location if you are wanting to see things in Asakusa area. Also good is the public bath on the top floor, if you are into that, and I am, so it was great as it was clean and free for hotel guests. You are provided robes to use to get to the public...

easy access to the train stations, both Metro and JR lines. Rooms are small so if you are a big person it might be a challenge esp on the bathroom. Dont expect nice views from the windows, they are there only for ventilation.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
