Great hostel in the vibrant suburb of Asakusa (Tokyo). Close to two metro lines. About the hostal, the atmosphere is great due to its nice common area and kitchen and the staff super nice and helpful! Glad I choose this hostel! :) Javi

I really quite like staying in hostels. A few of my friends are a little bit wary of them, a few are downright elitist when it comes to sharing a room and some assume they will be stabbed every time they step foot in one. Khaosan Tokyo Kabuki would be the place I send all my friends who think hostels...

there are a lot of good things about this hostel, but location might be #1. it's about two minutes from sensoji temple, one of the most famous sites in tokyo, and it's a very short walk away from two key subway lines. there are convenience stores and several great restaurants in the area as well. staff is lovely. very friendly...

This hostel is great, it's fairly spacious with nice rooms and good facilities - as well as really lovely, helpful staff. Me and my friend stayed for 4 nights, half way through they upgraded us to a private room - which was obviously great! From the first day they took the time to remember our names, which I thought was...

Looking at the line-up of Khaosan Hostel, Tokyo Kabuki has far less attractive facilities/photos/advertisement. But looking at the reviews will say otherwise, and I am have experience first hand a Tokyo Kabuki Experience. The staff here are very great, very helpful and friendly. The facilities though not as bright/colorful as that of Khaosan Laboratory is very useful and convenient. The...

I stayed here for three nights as a stopover between Australia and the USA. The staff at this hostel are extremely helpful and friendly. They are more than happy to give you suggestions on places to eat, visit and how to get around. They will even phone to book something if required. The common room is cosy but has all...

A great place for meeting interesting travellers. Great connecting to central Tokyo via Asakusa and Ginza lines. Also very easy to get to Narita using the Narita sky express. The staff were excellent as well, thanks Nito and Ami for the great hospitality! There are several attractions in the area, cool shops and tasty ramen stops.

This is a cute hostel with really nice and helpful staff! Stayed in a 4 dorm room which was clean and had air-conditioning. The beds were ok and the shower and toilet are private but are in a connecting room which is good so that the other people in the dorm aren't too disturbed! The shower has good water pressure...

Stayed here 4 nights. Great location to the Temple at Asakusa which is particularly nice at night minus the daytime crowds! The front office staff are very friendly and helpful and are super enthusiastic which is nice! I was welcomed with tea as soon as I arrived which I thought was nice. All the rooms are ensuite and are very...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
