The hotel is within walking distance of 2 JR stations, Ameyoko and the Ueno park. Our room is very clean, and there was no trace of smoke, which seems to be common even in non-smoking rooms of hotels in Japan. The room is nicely soundproofed. The stuff was friendly and speaks enough English. The breakfast place is tiny but why...

The Hotel is situated around the corner of a busy Ueno market. Not so easy to find... we stumble and got lost while finding it but eventually we found it. Better get a location map at first. The check-in was OK and the room is quite large and quite modern type. I like it and the shower pressure is strong...

It's closer to Ueno-Okachimachi station than JR Ueno and Keisei Station, but you will be surrounded by many choices of transportation. If you choose to stay in Ueno you should not be expecting big rooms. The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and comfortable enough. A lot of convenience stores, restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance. You can also walk to...

This hotel is located at Ameyoko market and close to Ueno park. If you plan to shopping a snack and eating street food, this is a good choice. Walking from hotel to Ueno Station is a bit far and you may have to carry your luggage to second floors. If you have large luggage, this place may not convenient for...

I am traveling alone and thus prefer a safe and convenient hotel. The location of this hotel is perfect, close to Ueno JR station (actually closer to Okachimachi JR station also on Yamanote line and related Metro stations). These JR line and Metro lines carry you easily to popular areas like Shinjuku, Tokyo, Roppongi, etc. The hotel's entrance is on...

My top choice to stay in Ueno in this price range. There are better one in the area but more costly, also cheaper one but much older and farther from the central. Stayed 3 nights with twin room at 17sqm. The hotel is located just 3 minutes walk from Ueno Ameyoko, very close to train stations with all the foods,...

Walk only 3-5 mins from Subway and JR Yamanote Line and surrounded by many good restaurants in Ueno. Very close to Takeya Shopping Building and Ameyoko street. The room is clean and comfort. The staff is very nice and good in English. Breakfast can be take out. Will be back for sure :)

Great friendly receptions always trying to please their guest. I simply love their toiletries, seem every thought have been put in no matter after hard day of work or shopping. The aromatherapy soap will put you into a relax mode. Not forgetting their shaver, body sponges, combs and toothbrush are of all high qualities. Pillows are also one of my...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
