I stayed in this hotel for 3 days while in Tokyo. The room was tiny, barely enough space for the 'double bed' which in reality was a traditional Japanese (very thin) mattress on the floor. The hotel was a 25 minute walk from Asakusa station, but has a closer metro station also. It is in a quiet area with not...

Staff was very rude (old lady that kept shouting angrily). Our flight reached at night, we had to check in late, the lady at the counter was very angry although we requested late check-in. She told us that being late is not acceptable in their culture. When we tried to ask about bathroom, or other facilities, she said nothing is...

Fukudaya is in a quiet area 20min walk from Asakusa. It is 10 min to the nearest metro which is Minami-senju. The hotel is basic and the rooms are very small, just room for the bed on the floor nothing else. They do however supply a fridge and a tv on a shelf which is handy. You also have green...

Ok, so our stay wasn't horrible but I'd rather pay the extra money to stay somewhere more central. Although it's close to a train station it's not close to anything else and you're really in the back streets. The rooms are absolutely tiny (my partner is 6'4" and could barely fit) and are really basic. The staff barely speak English...

Our stay at Hotel Fukudaya was extremely pleasant. It is well located at about 10 minutes walk south of Minamisenju station, plus it is an easy 20-minute or so walk to the Asakusa area, with its shrine, shops and atmosphere. The hotel itself is a typical "business hotel": clean, quiet and spartan. The rooms are typical Japanese small, at about...

I'm going to write the bad first because I don't want to make those who just want to see why I've rated this establishment poorly scroll. However, if you have the time, read my entire review. Basically, there are about five different receptionists, so unless you're staying longer than a week, you probably won't see the person who checked you...

A friend and I stayed here only 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful despite the language barrier. The rooms were traditional Japanese. The only drawback was the location was in a quiet residential backstreet, it was nice and quiet but a walk from central Asakusa.

I arrived there at night, having made a reservation the previous day, and they had no room for me ! They asked me to sleep in a room next to the reception and cause i had no place to go, and the hotels nearby were fully booked I ended up sleeping there.

It was clean and simple. Close to the station (not near Shibuya though, this one is in the north near Asakusa). They provided everything needed- hot water for tea, slippers, kimono. Only thing is the staff spoke VERY little english. Great budget place to stay though.

What a lovely friendly hotel, a quiet and calm oasis just 10 minutes walk from exciting and busy Shibuya. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had one of the newly-refurbished Japanese-style rooms and it was very comfortable.
