Mt friend found this place. We are traveling with a rail pass and being near the station is important. The staff is very friendly and tries to speak english but, there isn't anybody fluent. Would not recommend this place or families with children because the rooms are TINY. The neighborhood is very quiet and there are just a few local style...

Stayed here for 5 days. It was tough to get family room during the sakura season as most hotels are full. We took four rooms to accommodate our family needs. The rooms are small and best option if you are going as couple is to take twin sharing. It is definitely not suitable for family unless you can take separate...

This hotel wasn't our first choice since we wanted to stay in the Shinjuku area, but couldn't find anything there at a reasonable price. The hotel is two stops north of Shinjuku at the Itabashi station. You can't miss it since it is right next to the station when you exit on the east side. Our room was very cramped...

The room is clean with basic amenities provided i.e toiletries, mineral water, bath towels etc. It is located just next to the Itabashi Station of the JR Saikyo Line. Therefore it was very convenient to travel from the hotel. A trip to Tokyo centre took about 30mins after some changes. There is a convenient store and a few restaurants within...

Nice location, staff really competent and smiling. Okay okay but it is still really expansive for what you get and the price can double from one day to an other if you take one day after one like I did. I think you can really get better than that for the same price.

This hotel, part of a chain in Japan, was very easy to find, being so close and easily visible from the Itabashi train station. The room was clean and comfortable, but probably the tiniest room I have ever slept in. My suitcase had to be placed in the corridor, and there was only one hanger for my trousers and nowhere...

APA hotel is a chain hotel in Japan and offers affordable room rate for travelers, from my understanding after few online search. (jalan.net provides better room rate and no payment required.) We had our 4-night-stay at APA Hotel ITABASHI. At first, we confused with its location which stated Ikeburoko and took a wrong stop at Ikeburoko station. Fortunately, we met...

My friend who lives in Jujo chose this hotel because it was reasonably priced and close by to her (1 station away). APA hotel is in a great location and very close to JR Itabashi station. Reception staffs english is ok. One girl in particular had quite good english but all staff were very polite and more than happy to...

It's literally a minute walk from JR Itabashi station which connects to the Yamanote line a stop away (can also take the airport express to Narita airport from Ikebukuro which is one stop away). Despite being right by the train tracks, it's amazingly quiet! Even the fridge in the room made no noise at all! There are many convenient stores...

My wife and I stayed here a few days while we visited her family in Itabashi. Actually we surprised them, showing up unannounced, so we needed a place for a couple nights until they were ready for us. Itabashi is a cool town that's close to Tokyo hot spots like Shinjuku and Ikebukuro. The hotel is in front of Itabashi...

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
