Nestled in the bustling heart of Tokyo, Sunshine City Prince Hotel captivates guests with its stellar location, offering easy access to a plethora of international dining options and shopping delights. While the service and atmosphere garner mixed reactions, many guests commend the cleanliness, highlighting well-kept rooms and efficient washroom facilities. The hotel's room sizes and decor, however, receive varied feedback, with some visitors finding them to be lackluster and cramped. As for value, opinions are split, with the convenience of onsite amenities winning over some, yet others feel the experience does not justify the price.

The reception staff were not helpful at all. There were a lot of people in elevators, etc. The cleaning was the worst I have ever experienced! They didn't empty overflowing trash. They took dirty towels but left no new ones. The trash that didn't fit in the overflowing trash can didn't take them. Useless cleaning!! I had to clean myself. The only thing that I feel is good is that there is a shop with a good selection that is open around the clock, there are washing machines and dryers cheaply. There is also a smoking room. You cannot adjust the heat in the rooms yourself and cannot open windows.

Space might be limited in Japan, but these rooms are ridiculously small for 2 people. We were initially given a room with 1 tiny bed for 2 people, even though we requested ( & paid for ) 2 beds they were reluctant to fulfill our request, eventually got 2 beds on a low floor. There’s no room to put your luggage or even sit down except for the bed. The rooms are not sound-proofed so you can hear all the comings & goings in the hallway & neighbours. It is so stuffy in the room & the air-conditioning doesn’t do much.
Breakfast is a nightmare, not enough tables for such a large hotel.
Dinner is much better as there are several restaurant options to choose from within the hotel or outside.
There are 2 rail stations close by & the shopping mall is under the hotel.

If you are staying at this hotel, you have a choice of spacious rooms on the upper floors. The Twin A rooms are the furthest from the elevator hall, and on the upper floors they are quiet, spacious and comfortable with few group guests. The bathroom is so-called Prince Unit because it is so old, but the panoramic floor has been beautifully renovated and doesn't feel very old. I've stayed several times, but I've never felt any problems with housekeeping, and the hotel staff are kind. Even though most of the reviews seem to be for the economy room on the lower floor that is dry, I think we should be prepared to some extent if we stay in the economy room.

It is about a 10-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, but it doesn't feel too far as there are some shops along the way and an underpass from Nitori's. If anything, it's only slightly troublesome to have to go around to a slightly distant entrance, as the station entrance closes at midnight on the way home. There are limousine buses from Narita and Haneda, and on the route from Narita to Skyliner to Yamanote, the section between Ikebukuro and Nippori is open, so travel is easy. Personally, I would much rather have Sunshine Prince's Panorama Deluxe room than stay in a small, high room in crowded, trashy Shinjuku. It is about the same price, and the convenience of Ikebukuro and Shinjuku as a Tokyo sightseeing base is equal.

My family of four stayed at the Sunshine City Prince Hotel on 12/4/2019-12/12/2019. This was the second time we’ve stayed at the Sunshine Prince. Check-in was quick and easy without any issues. Our 2 rooms this year were for the City Floor Twin Room B configuration on the24th floor. We had the twin Type C configuration last year. The additional cost for the B configuration was well worth it. Room B is a traditional side by side bed configuration while Room C is an end to end bed configuration. Room B is also about 50 square feet larger. The beds were firm and 2 pillows were provided per bed. Both pillows were very flat and my wife and I ended up having to use our travel pillows in order to provide adequate support. The rooms had a small desk, a small refrigerator, a small open closet area (in one of the 2 rooms), and a safe. The TV was approximately 32” with just one station that broadcasted in English (NHK). The bathroom had a small counter and a combo shower/tub. Water pressure was very good as was the water temperature. Climate control for the room was not good. There was no way to turn on the AC and there was no ventilation in the rooms so the rooms were constantly warm and stuffy (~75 degrees). Wi-Fi was excellent; we were always able to connect to the internet and we did not experience any dropped connections while we were there. Housekeeping was excellent as was the hotel staff (very friendly and they speak English). Despite our issues with the pillows and climate control, the location of the Prince still makes it an ideal hotel to consider. It’s proximity to the Sunshine Mall (convenience store, restaurants, souvenir stores), the Sunshine Strip (stores, eating establishments, game arcades), and closeness of the subway stations can’t be beat. The Airport Limousine also drops off and picks up directly from the hotel. I highly recommend the Sunshine City Prince Hotel and look forward to staying there again in my future visits to Tokyo.

This is the last night, 7 in total. I didn't hold out big expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. We arrived very early hours of the morning after bus dropped us of at Ikebukuro station after a very delayed flight. Eventually found the hotel, quick check in we were up to our room and hit the pillow. On waking was wowed by the most amazing view from our 24 floor window. Yes room small, but used the space well. Desk at the window with TV, kettle, desk lamp & folding mirror. underneath safe & fridge with chair. I booked a twin room thinking this would give us a little more room. Beds really comfortable with 2 down pillows each. Bedside table between with light controls & bed lamp. Cotton waffle night gown & slippers each. Bathroom consists of bath/shower, toilet with all the bells & whistles. toiletries pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap on tap, cotton tips, 2 toothbrush & paste, 2 combs, 2 shower caps, 2 razors/ cream & combination brush/comb. Everything super clean & bedding/ towels white white. Staff so helpful. Family Mart in the foyer that is 24/7 that has every thing you need. Hotel is in a shopping center and close to Ikebukuro station. So happy with our choice of hotel & will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in Tokyo.

Hotel room was reasonably sized for Japan, clean and well maintained .
Location good for shopping and metro/train station.
We stayed three nights.
Breakfast in this hotel is hopeless. The dining room is too small for the number of people using it. The first morning we queued for 15 minutes. When we eventually got into the dining room there were lots of tables available, albeit all full of previous patrons dishes. Every morning we had to clear our own table.
The popular food tureens were mostly empty and were either slow to replace or were not replaced at all. Cutlery was hard to find or not available. Breakfast juices were not replenished .
On the last day the Matre D's was surely, telling us the restaurant closed at 9 am when we were just arriving at 08.15.
Most of the issues could be avoided if this hotel would employ more staff. By the number of people in the lobby and by the time it takes to get a lift the hotel appears to be fully booked. The hotel seems keen to take their customers money but not to provide a good service in the restaurant.
I put 2 complaints in on line , neither of which deemed a response by the hotel management.
Most of our Wendy Wu tour group offered the same comments about the poor service at breakfast.

Stayed here for 4 nights in June as part of a Wendy Wu tour.
Rooms are tiny, air conditioning is too hot with only a switch that reads low, medium and high which did nothing to reduce the temperature. Bathroom is so small I’m not sure how my husband took a shower.
There is very little space to hang clothes, just a small rail with 4 coat hangers. They could do with installing some hooks on the wall. I’ve stayed in smaller ship cabins with more space. The view from the window was of the learner driver school across the road.
The welcome dinner was appalling-cold reformed pork in panko, cold fish, cold everything. Inedible.
We ordered a wine and a beer - wine AUD $18.00, beer $13.00 and a hefty $9.40 in service charge.
When we checked in after 8pm we were told all restaurants were closed and could eat at the convenience store. They couldn’t give us any suggestions to eat in Ikebukuro. So we walked there and found something for dinner.
Don’t eat at the buffet restaurant It was not of good quality, with mostly western food that looked like slop.
The breakfast was ok with a lot of choice.
There is a massive shopping mall attached to the hotel with plenty of shops and places to eat.
I wouldn’t stay here again.

If you can happily sleep at a room temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius then this hotel would be a great option as everything else is fine.

However, if you’re like me and would prefer a more comfortable sleeping temperature then I would advise you to find another.

There is no thermostat control in the room and apart from requesting a noisy tower fan and/or a sheet to replace the doona there is absolutely nothing that you or the hotel staff can do to adjust the temperature.

Notes:

This hotel stay was booked by our tour operator.
Many of our fellow easy-going travellers expressed similar sentiments.
We stayed in seven 3/4 star hotels during a very recent Japanese tour and all except this one were air-conditioned.

This hotel is a good choice because of its direct connection to the Sunshine City mall, and a close walking distant to the JR Train Station. However, there are a few things that should be aware of: (1) Rooms extremely small (2) Bathroom does not have much toiletries (ladies, you shall need to bring your own lotion even though there is a hair dryer) (3) No room for iron (4) There is a huge step up from the Bedroom to the Bathroom (don't trip over that!) (5) Bath tub has high entrance that you shall need to climb into that with great care (my wife slipped and felt in their bath tub - their handicap handle did not help!) and the base of the bath tub can get slippery

We've stayed at sunshine city prince for 4 nights, with a lot to enjoy about and some not so much. first the pros: it is close to a lively district of Tokyo, it is 10 minute walk from Ikebukuro station which lays on 3 different lines, so it makes it easier for you to move around the city no matter where you wanna go. Then, having a mall attached to the hotel (and a Pokemon center for those inclined to visit one) was also quite enjoyable. The 24-hour family mart is also a plus value for the hotel, you can find lots of stuff like hot food, sake and souvenirs. Breakfast was also good and rooms were cleaned daily. Now for the downsides of this hotel: elevators can be slow given the number of rooms they have, there are only 4 going to every floor and 2 reserved for upper floors. There are no baths, which are quite popular in Japan and as everybody said, you can't control a/c.

Come to an adult place but have no connections? I recommend Xizi for dating girls in Tokyo, Japan. Japanese girls provide a full range of S services. If you see someone you like, you can spend cash in Japanese yen. No deposit or remittance is required. No fraud is allowed. You can book hotels and home delivery. Foreigners are accepted. You don’t need to know Japanese. You can make reservations in Chinese. Good news for foreigners TG:cc383 and Line:03828. The first choice for business trips and travel. We, also, asked the same the question. The answer was not anymore. Yet, we saw an Airport shuttle stopped at the hotel a few days ago. You may want to ask the Hotel Staff just to be sure, though. We were told that the Airport Shuttle was running from the Haneda Airport.
