Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

5star location with 2star room and service. Hard to find entrance but great for shopping and dining. Very small room. 2 compliments water. Slow elevator . Front desk very slow and make a mistake.(we book with breakfast but she did not add) breakfast was ok if it’s less than ¥2000 ..better eat out. not impressed. Maybe better stay in business hotels near by with way affordable price. Fancy name high price low quality.

If you can happily sleep at a room temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius then this hotel would be a great option as everything else is fine. However, if you’re like me and would prefer a more comfortable sleeping temperature then I would advise you to find another. There is no thermostat control in the room and apart from requesting a noisy tower fan and/or a sheet to replace the doona there is absolutely nothing that you or the hotel staff can do to adjust the temperature. Notes: This hotel stay was booked by our tour operator. Many of our fellow easy-going travellers expressed similar sentiments. We stayed in seven 3/4 star hotels during a very recent Japanese tour and all except this one were air-conditioned.

I do not normally write negative reviews but I just have to warn people … do Not Stay at this ‘hotel’ - its horrible. Rooms hot and horrible no individual aircon control and aircon broken on our floor yet they still put us in sweat box rooms. Staff were rude and horrible to match room … they had probably had lots of complaints about the heat but rudeness and ignoring there is a problem and then lying about it is never good, also the only time ever in Japan I was basically told where to go. Ahhhh diabolical place stay away … as the local do, did not see any Japanese staying at the hotel…mmm!

We arrived very tired after a long flight. Reception staff were very friendly and equally helpful. Our room was a good size. The beds were comfortable and there were a range of cushions and pillows to use. The bathroom was excellent with a great range of toiletries to use. Complementary bottles of water were left for us in the room. There were facilities to make hot drinks. The only down side we could mention was that the safe was very small. Not big enough for an iPad Air. The restaurant had really good food both at night and at breakfast. Staff worked hard to please and there was a substantial choice of food at breakfast. The only down side was that a glass of wine cost more than a bottle of wine at a local store. Shops and transport are conveniently close and staff are on hand to help. Overall, a really enjoyable stay.

We recently stayed at the Prince Hotel. It was nearly perfect. Pros -warm and helpful staff -location -convenience store off the lobby -decent sized rooms for Tokyo -excellent water pressure in the shower -fast elevators -laundry Con -poor air conditioning I must elaborate on that. It was quite warm and humid outside. The rooms were also hot and stuffy. We had two rooms on different floors and both were hot. The air condition is a little vent that blows very weakly. There is no vent in the bathroom. It feels like a sauna. We did ask if the air was working and they said would check. They did have a fan for us and that made it barely tolerable. If you are a warm sleeper or just like it cold, stay here in the winter. Sadly, I would not repeat my stay due to the interior temperature.

The location is the main attraction, actually attached to the Sunshine City mall for all your shopping needs, a short walk from the nearest train stations and in Ikebukuro, which has everything you need for restaurants and entertainment. The staff bring all the expected Japanese hospitality and we’re lovely throughout our stay, even finding us a fan at 3am as the room was too hot. For a Japanese hotel our room was very spacious, we had no issues fitting ourselves and our belongings in.

The hotel is pretty big and well located to the nearest train station. The people are very friendly but few spoke English. I found ther is a 7-eleven located inside the lobby area with souvenirs as well. the rooms are compact but the beds are comfortable. I enjoyed my stay here.

Located in the former red light district, near the Ikebukuro station. Smooth check-in, helpful staff, don't always speak English. Near the elevator there is a convenient shop open 24/7, here is also an ATM. Good rooms [2303], beds and shower. Good hotel, with a great location, on the Circle line, and various sights can be reached in about 20-30 minutes. Next to the hotel is a small park, and a lively area with various shops and restaurants. Of course also several restaurants in the train station, which is adjacent to the hotel.

A pleasant surprise for a hotel in Tokyo. Spacious room with excellent amenities. Helpful staff and great access to the shopping centre. The views from the front rooms give a pleasant outlook, very good when cherry blossom season.

Nice hotel. A bit dated but conveniently connected to Sunshine City mall. Breakfast buffet was ok. Could use some different menu options. Ikebukuro area is busy and has a lot of shopping options. Would opt for something closer to other Tokyo attractions next time.
