We are a group of 4 adults travelling for leisure and stayed 6 nights at this Hotel. One of my companions chose this Hotel because of the price and its proximity to the Metro and JR stations. Our booking was made online less than 2 weeks before our trip and it cost us 115USD per room per night.

Room
My estimate is that the whole room, including the bathroom about 26 sqm. I stayed at a twin room with 2 double beds. 2 luggages can fit on the floor. Bathroom is pre-fab - the ones that are usually seen on a boat/cruise ship. From the outside, it looked like the bathroom was built as part of the room but when inside, it felt like it wasn't really bolted on the floor but personally I didn't have any problem with this. It has a bathtub with a shower. It had all the basic ammenities that a room can have on an economical level. Shampoo, conditioner, soap are in big pump dispensers that are daily replenished. Hairdryer, toothbrush kits, shaving kits, their version of a hot kettle, tea bags, teacups are there as well. Only local channels are available on TV. Pay TV can be accessed but I think its still in Japanese. Room comes with buffet-style breakfast. The way the food are cooked changes everyday but always has this format - egg, processed meat, fried meat or vegetables, salad, miso soup, rice, dessert, bread, coffee, tea. Free internet with LAN cable available in-room; no wifi.

Facilities
The Hotel has free wifi within the lobby (24 hours). The restaurant only opens at 7-9am for breakfast service. Several vending machines are available. It stocks items from water to beer to international phone cards that can call most countries - Philippines included, 19min for 1000yen. There is a complimentary ladies relaxation room on the 7th floor with very good high quality massage chairs. My only regret is that I only discovered this on my last night. Computer booths and an ice machine are just off the lobby. Lobby has a door leading to a well-stocked convenience store called Recods.

Location
The Hotel is about 15 meters from the Minami-Asagay station on the Marunouchi Metro Line. It is about 45 meters from the JR Asagaya Station (JR Chuo Line). Asagaya Jazz St. (no cars) is around 25 meters away and has restaurants, bars, shops. At the end of this Street is a mid-class department store Seiyu. This is right beside the JR Asagaya Station. It has a grocery on the first 2 floors.
Minami-Asagaya Station (Marunouchi Metro Line) is 6 stops (20 min) away from Shinjuku and 14 stops (20-40 min) away from Ginza.

Staff
Though limited in spoken english, everyone in the Hotel are very much willing to help. They are very patient and will use "sign" or visual drawings just so you can understand each other.

This hotel is great for the money! My boyfriend and I stayed in the semi double room, the room is small, but that's expected ,but it's very clean and comfortable and that't the most important thing! To get here from Narita does take about 2 hours, but narita is pretty far from tokyo so that's expected. My boyfriend and I don't know any Japanese, but we're able to find our way here pretty easily. From narita take the keisei line to Napporri then transfer to the jr line to shinjuku then from shinjuku get on the marunouchi line and get off on Minami asagaya (I think the total cost was around 1380 yen). The hotel is on the same main road as the metro station ,right across from a fire station, very easy to find! The breakfast here is awesome! It's a Buffett with soo many choices, it's great that it's included ,it's very filling.I guess some would say this location is king of far, but it's only 4 or 5 stops from shinjuku, for the money we spent on this hotel we could not have gotten a better deal in Tokyo!

I love this hotel, value for money indeed. The rooms are clean, staff very accommodating. Their buffet breakfast was delicious. There is a convenience store on the ground floor. The Minami-Asagaya Metro subway station is only about 200 meters, making easy access to many areas of interest within Tokyo. Will definitely stay in this hotel again!

PROS:
- The hotel is a three-minute walk to the left of Exit 1 of Minami-asagaya Station on the Marunouchi Line. Shinjuku is just 11 minutes away by subway.
- There is a convenience store directly connected to the hotel's lobby for immediate needs.
- Rooms are decently sized by Japanese standards, but definitely not for clautrophobic individuals. Rooms contain the basic facilities (mini refrigerator, television, humidifier), and a USB power outlet. Free wifi has a good signal inside the room.
- On a clear day, Mount Fuji can be seen from some rooms in the hotel's west side.
- Bathroom is likewise small but sufficient. Toiletries are well-stocked, and are replenished daily.
- Buffet breakfast is included in the room's price. Dishes are varied daily, which are mostly on the Japanese side. There are also vending machines selling hot and cold beverages.
- Hotel staff speaks adequate English, and is helpful to every guest's needs.

CONS:
- Hotel location is quite from the city center.
- There is a fire station fronting the hotel which can be a bit noisy at times, especially when they use sirens.
- Hanachaya, their breakfast buffet restaurant on the second floor, can get crowded at times because it is not that big.
- Only Japanese channels are available on the television.
- The hotel doesn't have a currency exchange facility; there's a post office just to the right of the metro exit that does that.

Rooms were ok and clean. I got a single room and it was spacious. Bed was bigger than the normal single bed. Toilets were small as expected, I guess a norm in Tokyo. Amenities were pretty much complete. We also booked a twin room for my friends and the room was much bigger than other hotels we've stayed in. But beware, cause their double room is just equally big as the single room and the bed is just a double or full-size bed, that comes with two person breakfasts instead of one. So make sure to request for twin bed rooms

Buffet Breakfast was ok, with enough variety, both western and local. It's nice to get a hot breakfast in the morning.

We did get a good rate for this hotel through Agoda a month before our stay. Early inquiries showed much higher rates so we did not book this hotel at first.

Location is ok, although not really central to the Shinjuku attractions and shops, but accessible via a 15-minute train ride. Convenience store next to property with indoor access. The place is on the main road but generally quiet.

Happy that they were able to keep our luggage when we left Tokyo for one night in Fuji to come back and stay another night. Staff is friendly and can speak English well.

This hotel is very near to Miami asagaya station. The price we paid was great as it also included breakfast.breakfast had a wide variety and different dishes each morning. The room is a bit small but clean. Bathroom clean too. I work in a hotel so I know what to look for and I think this hotel is worth it. The staff are nice and helpful. This hotel is not in the centre of Tokyo but is much better I think as not so congested. Takes about less than 15mins by train to get to shinjuku. Will definitely stay here again. On the second floor there are also vending machines which sell beer.

I went for a solo trip to japan in October, and after some research, i stumbled across Amista Asagaya. Booked a single room for the first half of the trip and then a double for the second half of the trip (room was booked at different times). The hotel happily accommodated me on my travel requirements.

Located in a somewhat mid-classed residential area, Amista Asagaya is the perfect poster child of a business hotel - no-fuss accomodation.

The single room is perfect for a single guy - a super-single bed with thick comforter for those chilly nights. A LCD tv, minibar and complimentary green tea completes the room. They also included a press iron, a first for me, for ironing purposes. Free shampoo and body wash is also included.

For the free internet, it is required to ask the front desk for the network cable if you don't have any.

There is an italian restaurant at the lobby of the hotel, and along the way to the hotel there are several restaurants and even a bakery if you are more inclined to eat something else.

One ubiquitous facet of japanese life - the vending machine - is also available in the hotel.

The double room was also comfortable to stay in, with generally the same amenities as the single room.

The staff is friendly and helpful with some English knowledge, although i feel that a little bit of Japanese phrases goes a long way in getting more hospitability.

We stayed at this hotel again this year for 3 nights. This hotel has a good location where one can go to Shinjuku station by walking 2 minutes from the hotel and another 10+ minutes to go to Shinjuku by Maru no Uchi line and the train is not crowded. Or if one would like to to to Kichijoji one can get on Chuo line takes about 10 minutes by walk to Asagaya station.
We enjoy the buffet breakfast which has Japanese and western food. There are plenty of food and the staff were so nice and active. Staying in Japan even this hotel is a business hotel yet the hotel provided sleeping nemaki size XL for my spouse who is very tall. We stayed in a double room which is not a very big bed but good enough for us. Downstairs is a Convenience store where I can go down to buy anything I want any time.It is very convenient and just right for us.

Average hotel, good for short stay. Hotel was close to the subway and JR Asagaya is not far away if using JR pass. Room was small but probably typical for Japan. Double bed was small for 2 person, probably not suitable to a tall person. Room was clean and has all the amenities needed. Buffet breakfast has good selection of food. Convenience store right next to hotel with entrance from the lobby.

It is so convenient to stay at this Route Inn Asagaya, it is only 2 minutes walk from the station, just get on the Maru no uchi subway line and get off at Minami asagaya. breakfast for me to have miso soup, delicious rice, nori and some pickles would be just fine for me. On top of that it is buffet which one can enjoy bread, ham, soup, and also Chinese noodles etc. I would be back again next time for it is the best location to go to Kichi joji and Shinjuku station. No need to suffer a long train in the crowd from here.

Yes, there is airport limousine bus from Haneda airport but in general Japanese and tourists will not prefer to use limousine. Once one is out from the airport, one will use the mono rail and then change to local train which is very convenient. If you stay few days at Hotel route inn, and have big luggage, you can use the delivery to deliver your luggage to the hotel the next day. You don't have to carry and it is quite inconvenient and not many japanese would have big luggage on the train. Hotel route inn is just a business hotel. I don't think the limousine will stop there, though.
