We used the train to get into Tokyo from Narita Airport (take the Keisei skyliner for a 45 min ride to the Ueno station). When we got out of the Higashi Shinjuku station it was literally a few steps to our left. It was very easy to get around using the subway, as we didn't use the JR pass I...

The room is so small that you would be constantly bumming on the door, bed edges or chairs. If you have many baggage, you might consider getting a bigger room (if any). The hotel room does not have a cupboard and/or safe box for storage, we have to keep bringing our luxury/expensive stuff out during the whole trip. The room...

We stayed here for a week. Location was great! There was a subway right beside the hotel and it was a short walking distance from the malls at Shinjuku. There were quite a number of cafes/ eateries around the vicinity as well as a 24-hour supermarket! Staff were courteous and helpful. Our only gripes were the overly firm bed, the...

I stayed here for 10 days. The rooms are small but overall an excellent hotel, it make a great base for getting around Tokyo as the subway is outside the main door. There is a small deli / canteen opposite which I wouldn't recommend. I would return.

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed our time. Room is a small but functional. Staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is located minutes from the subway, which is convenient. Breakfast was also tasty. We would stay here again when we visit Tokyo again.

The hotel room is small but modern and functional. Staffs were generally friendly and helpful. The free breakfast that came together during my stay was respectable but I do hope for more variety. I stayed for consecutive 7 days. Can you imagine I had almost similar food for every morning? This hotel is well located and is above Higashi-Shinjuku Station,...

Hotel was nice and clean but rooms were rather small, but that is very common all over Japan. The hotel offers great value and is in a good location that is very close to the subway, bars and restaurants. Would recommend this hotel!

We only did a stop over here but wished we did at least 3 nights. Shinjuku is amazing, great food and bars, things to do everywhere you look. Go for a walk through little Korea town and have something to eat. Heaps of shops if you want to go shopping. The bowling was fun, also a lot of computer game...

This hotel is in a great spot. Right near the tube station and a large shopping center. We walked to lots of cool little streets and found great places to eat. Once you are in your room it is quiet and comfortable. We have a large family so had to book 3 rooms. This is common in Japan though. My...

Stayed here the other evening and it was a decent experience, albeit with tiny rooms by US Standards. Carrying luggage via the trains is very challenging in Asia, as not all stations are fully accessible by escalators. Check-in process was prompt, professional, and courteous. Agent signed me up for their loyalty program which enabled me to have a 1 pm...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
