The service is so bad it spoils your day! If you are stating at this god damn place! Give up trying to seek help from the ill mannered staff... Asking for directions she shrug... Wifi, she shrugs too... The only question she answered is when you asked for your room keys! If you do not know Japanese language, hotel staff...

The rooms are small; there is little storage space to hang-up a lot of clothes, but having said that, it is possible to store suitcases under the bed. Each room is equipped with a fridge, bath, wc and shower and wifi. The rooms are clean and functional. Despite the hotel being situated in a busy part of Tokyo which lives...

Our room with a double bed was small until my partner and I got in the way of each other. Luckily, the room and the attached toilet was clean. There was nothing much about the breakfast. It was just some rice balls and bread. Despite this, we were satisfied with Toyoko Inn Shinjuku as it met our basic needs without...

Great location in the more quiet area of Shinjuku (but close to restaurants and bars) and close to the subway station. Friendly staff that can speak a little bit of english, clean rooms and good breakfast even though it was a bit hard to get used to rice in the morning..

My husband and I have been to Tokyo numerous times, and we always come back to the Tokoyo chain. Their Shinjuku Kabuki branch is our favourite. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1) Friendly staff - Fluent in English, and some in fluent Mandarin 2) Clean and tidy - as with all Japanese hotels/home stay 3) Free breakfast -...

Toyoko Inn was great. Cheap, clean, nice breakfast included. Wifi only available downstairs but the rooms have a cord to connect laptops to internet. Good location, short walk to the train station and lots of bars and restaurants around. The rooms were quite small but not bad for the price. Book early to avoid disapointment!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this hotel. My room was small, but everything was clean and cozy. The bathroom was very nice with amenities and an electric toilet seat that is so popular in Japan and Korea. It is centrally located in Shinjuku near plenty of shopping, restaurants, and the subway. A Japanese breakfast is also...

Thanks to TripAdvisor, as always, I chose this particular Toyoko Inn among the many Toyoko locations in Tokyo. I knew going in that there were clubs/nightlife nearby, but I guess I didn't do my homework on the fact that Shinjuku, specifically the Kabuki-cho area, is specifically known for it's red light district! The fact stated above isn't as obvious during...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
