My wife wanted to see her friend in Shinjyuku, and this is the reason why we stayed this Toyoko Inn. But to be honest, I did not like the surrounding of this hotel. Kabukicho is a famous district for night life, but not clean. Next time, I do not think come back to this hotel.

One of the tiniest room I've stayed in but it's very clean and well maintained. Located right at the heart of the red light district in Shinjuku and quite a walk to the Shinjuku station but I went there when the air was chilly so a long walk was no problem at all. Breakfast was great, love the different types...

This Toyoko Inn is bigger and newer than most of the Toyoko Inns. It uses a card system, instead of old fashioned room key. Your membership card is also your room card. The hotel's website states that it's a 12-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. However, I found out that it's not that near. It can take 20-30 minutes, or longer...

IT's close to Shinjuku station, within 10 minute walk along a lively street at night. The room is small but clean with all the basic amenities. Simple Japanese breakfast provided. Two negative remarks though: there is no free English TV channels and while free Wifi is said to be available, it couldn't be connected in my room on the 4th...

Whenever I travel in Japan I always stay at Toyoko Inns. They are simple hotels for a good price, designed more around the needs of traveling business people. The included breakfasts are typical Japanese fair, such as miso soup and rice balls. Not extremely close to the Shinjuku train station, but it is about a 10 minute walk away. Too...

The hotel is located just 10 minutes walk from shinjuku station! Kabuchi-ko is an amazing district. The rooms are not so little, clean and confortable. The free breakfast is ok! There are so many services ( free internet , automatic dispenser whit any kind of drink included beer...) and the receptionists are all nice and kind. Next to the hotel...

I am a member of Tomoko Inn. I always stay at Toyoko Inn whenever wherever possible. However my recent trip to Tokyo was a not so pleasant. I booked this hotel 6 months before my trip. Still I was checked in to a room with window facing a direct wall that was just 50cm away. I then fed back to...

Very convenient location for those who want to explore the Kabuki-cho area. Room is compact yet very clean. Free breakfast is fine but do not expect too much since it is free. Overall, nothing to complain.

This hotel is centrally located in the city of Tokyo Market is very near to its place. Different shopping malls are nearby to this hotel. Nice stay, small rooms, no room service / house keeping. Room tarriffs are budgeted.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
