Room was very overpriced. I learnt my lesson. Never let your travel agent pick your hotel or you will end up in a crap box paying way too much. It is so far from the centre of town or anything of value. Room is outdated and smelt musky. No view from room. Cracks in walls and ceiling and corridor. Tiny...

This hotel is in a great location aporoximately 10 minutes from Shinjuku station. If youarebt up to walking there is a free shuttle bus to the hotel and the staff on the bus are very helpful and provide excellent service. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this hotel to anyone thibking of travelling to Tokyo.

Shinjuku New City Hotel is located in a very good place. It gives guests the possibility to get anywhere. Every 20 minutes hotel's bus takes tourist to the metro and train station. On breakfast you can try Japanese or European cuisine.

This was the first stop on our Japan trip... We caught the train into shinjuku station and couldn't find where the shuttle bus would collect us from, so we had to taxi it to the hotel... I thought the price of the rooms were quite steep considering, but we were very close to everything we needed to get around quickly......

Location - About a 15 minute walk to the station, it's not most conveniently located but the key mitigating factor was the free direct shuttle bus between the hotel and Shinjuku Station every 20 minutes (other than between 11am and 2pm) that more than makes up for this inconvenience. If required, a taxi ride is about 750 yen away. Stayed...

We stayed 4 nights on first week of Dec. The hotel provides free shuttle bus between hotel and Shinjuku station. It was very convenient but the service stop running on 11 am - 2 pm which our starting travel time. Anyway we walked short distance. It's ok. The room standard is fine and clean. There are convenient store nearby as...

We had to stay here since it is the most convenient hotel near our meeting place for our mt. fuji tour. Sadly, it is an old hotel, thus you cannot expect superb ambiance, or (at least) good facilities. I think there are better hotels for the price same as what we got.

Close to Shinjuku station. Friendly, attentive staff and a number of English speaking staff on Reception. Spacious rooms, well furnished although beds rather firm. Fantastic breakfast buffet with many options including Western. Family Mart 2min walk up the road. Numerous restaurants just a short stroll down the road. Would stay again.

Great location just 10 mins walk from the Government building for the best views of Tokyo. Booked a budget double and it was the cheapest room I could find in Shinjuku for just under £60 a night for the 2 of us and I couldn't fault it. The shuttle runs on time and regularly and although staff didn't speak the...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
