Value
Tokyo Central Youth Hostel is accommodating more than 40,000 guests per year, of which the 40 percent are from overseas. Our hostel is located near Iidabashi Station, where is the heart of Tokyo. It is a very convenient location, where you can take Jr lines or Tokyo metro lines and go to Shinjuku, Tokyo, Ueno, Akihabara, Asakusa, Harajuku, Ginza and Roppongi. The facility consists in 4 to 10 people bunk bed dormitory style rooms and Japanese style tatami rooms located on the 18th and 19th floors overlooking a panoramic view of Tokyo. We are popular among youth organizations, young ladies and families because of the safety. For the security of the building and our guests we have a curfew that no one can come in or going out from 11pm to 6am. Around our hostel are plenty of restaurants, also convenience stores, supermarket, 100yen shop, pharmacy, hospital, post office around our hostel, it is very convenient. We are looking forward to seeing you!

It's in a big building but the hostel is on the 18th and 19th floor next to the metro! Great location to Restaurant row down the street! Next to the metro! What a great place fun and happening also very very calm and quiet! So many locals stayed here! Great English speaking staff!! I would only stay here every time I visit Tokyo!!!

Affordable and everything you need is right here. You can experience a mini Onsen for free, communal dining, and Japan's trademark of being clean, simple and organized. The view at night and day is spectacular and what I liked most about the hostel is its less than 50 steps away from the JR Train Station. (Iidabashi) There are also a lot of shops specifically a bookstore, Baskin Robbins and some cafes at the ground floor. Would highly recommend the cheap ramen/rice shop at the entrance of Iidabashi Station. If you are having a short trip in Tokyo, you can get a piece of the city because the building is also a few steps away from Kanda river which is also filled with Cherry Blossom trees. A nice stroll would do, or feel free to jog every morning. The rooms were dorm type, smallest room is a twin room which can accommodate 4, but we were lucky we got the room to ourselves. Only con is check in is at 3PM (just a little late) while check out is at 10AM. And you have to mind the curfew which is at 11PM so its not ideal if you would like to have a long night outside. But for us it wasnt really a problem, we were back even before 10PM, the train will also close at 12PM so its not that bad.Amenities were great, iron / curler is also available free of charge, WIFI is fast (signal can only reach up to the 4th room near the lobby), Plenty of guide booklets available for free at the reception and microwave and water is available at the pantry. Toilet are separated from the bath area (onsen) and is very clean and equipped with the latest bidet system, doing #2 wont be a problem. Hostel is at the 18th and 19th floors, we didnt encountered any elevator queue. If you are to early for check in or still want to roam within the area after check out luggage storage is available too. If you are on a budget, dont hesitate! This hostel is highly recommended. Affordable, convenient and efficient. Enjoy Tokyo!

The place is good but a bit hard to find because inside a shared building. Staff people are really nice and speak english but the bad thing is that there is a curfew.
After 11pm it is impossible to enter in the hostel. Personally it was the thing that make me go but if you don't want to go out it is a good place.

Family of three stayed in the hostel for three nights in December. It's right next to the train station. We had a great city view from the room. It looked like every room has nice view as the hostel is up on the high floors. Staff were all very friendly and helped us with directions and etc. Hostel has a little kitchenette and convenient. All very satisfactory. We had a great time.

I stayed here in February 2016 and it was clean, comfortable, and centrally located on both the metro and regional trains. Very easy to get around. The showers were busy but nice. Be aware that if you're out past 11pm you'll be locked out until 6am the next day. I had to pull an all nighter out on the clubs because of the curfew, but if anything it added to my awesome whirlwind trip in Tokyo.

This is a very friendly hostel, it is located just next to JR station, with great food within a 10 min walk.

The staff there is also very friendly and helpful.

And they got locker for each person, an Osen bath in bathroom, Wifi, and breakfast~
Virtually they got everything that you need.

The only downside for me: the bed and pillow are both very hard.....
This is why I can't give them a 5-star ranking

We'd looked forward to our two nights in this sky high hostel. The location is good. Very close to the subway & JR trains. Lots of places to eat (including a grocery store) in the building. But the rooms weren't as comfortable as we'd wished. Really slim mattresses that made for uncomfortable sleep. The air conditioning couldn't quite mask the Tokyo swelter, but that may be due to this problem:

The carpets had been just cleaned, likely due to some sort of biological accident of the sort that one doesn't really want to contemplate. The floors started out wet, proceeded to gummy, and by the time we checked out the enzyme cleaner had gotten to work--and the stench was over-powering. Again, not really the hostel's fault, but it did really affect our stay in an unpleasant way :(

Otherwise the facilities were good. Seemed like people had to wait awhile to do laundry (only one machine on our half of the floor). Plenty of bathroom/shower space. Wi-fi in the common areas. We didn't eat at the hostel because there was a great bakery downstairs in the building & we found dinner out and about.

Good for large parties--all 8 of our traveling family stayed in one room. Privacy curtains and lockers for those in smaller groups.

Well organised, clean hostel above the Iidabashi rail and metro station. They are not kidding about the 11 p.m. curfew. So it's not a party hostel.

Big lockers in the dorms. Breakfast costs 700 yen and is good, some mornings a buffet. Wifi was strong.

Says youth hostel but there were plenty of older guests. This is one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Discount for HI members.

This no frills place offers friendly service and represents value for the budget conscious. Rooms are reasonably spacious and everything is very clean. The beds are hard by western standards but we had a quad room for two people and so used two mattresses each. The communal showers and toilets were better than expected. Water temperature and pressure were good and they were kept clean throughout the day. Just remember to pack a towel. The free wifi signal was strong and the 600 yen breakfast represented good value. It's adjacent to the Iidabashi Station so is very convenient.

A bit hard to find, but this may help: Take exit B2a or B2b at Iidabashi station, then you're right at the bulding. The hostel has very friendly staff, a nice onsen, and a great location because it sits on top of several subway lines, Chuo Line being closest. My wife and I booked a room of 4 for just the two of us (we had to pay for the room, of course) but this way we had a lot of space, even a desk and chairs - and a great view.
