It was in such a convenient location - within a 5 minute walk of the train station. About 5 mins to Golden gai (Shinjukus awesome small bar drinking area) and surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars and karaoke places. You really are in the thick of it all here. Also the free wifi in the lobby is very handy. The info...

We stayed at the hotel, and we enjoyed every second in it... The front desk were very friendly and they helped a lot, even at the concierge they were very friendly helping us with the street names and malls. The rooms are small but super clean and very comfortable, the location of the hotel is on the good side of...

This hotel is very close to train station. 5-10 minute walk you arrive East exit of Shinjuku station, which is one of the main station in Tokyo. You can go to anywhere in Tokyo or Japan via Shinjuku station. Also few minutes walk to Shinjuku and lots of restaurant (24 hours too). This is very convenience location. The room inside...

Got this hotel as part of a flight package. Two night layover in Tokyo and this hotel was the only decently priced option. A surprisingly nice hotel. All the staff were extremely nice, and although they spoke little English, they did their best to overcome the language barrier and provide help whenever it was sought. The rooms were tiny (though...

The location has easy access to transportation. However, half of the rooms are overlooking the train tracks- of the busiest train station in the world! I had one of those rooms- and am a light sleeper. But, it was not too noisy. Bed and pillows were comfortable and I slept well. The hotel is also right in the middle of...

We stayed 3 nights at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel as part of our 3 week Japan trip, The location of the hotel is very good -it's about a 10 minute walk from Shinjuku station (make sure you take some directions - it is huge and very confusing if you don't know which exit to take!). There are streets filled with...

Now I didn't pay for my own room, but I know how much my company did pay for it and if it had been my own money I'd not have been satisfied. Bottom line quibble is this: I could not connect my laptop to the TV because either the TV did not have an HDMI slot or it was somewhere...

The hotel is next to a Pepe Shopping Mall and Seibu Line, surrounded by shops, department stroes, and restaurants. Within walking distance to JR Shinjuku Station and Subway Station. Rooms are tiny compared to the rates I pay. Considered very expensive. Front Office Staff (receptionists) are very helpful and friendly. But there is one concierge man named "Huang", whom I...

We stayed for four nights at Shinjuku Prince back in October 2012. Being our first time in Tokyo as tourists, we had considered the usual top-choice areas to stay (Shibuya, Shinjuku, etc). However, as we were not booking with a lot of anticipation, our choice of hotels was very much restricted as many of them had the cheapest rooms sold...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
