Really good location , small room but was clean and did what we needed for a 3 night city break. I would recommend and return. The receptionist spoke amazing English which really helps as not many people do so we had lots of questions for her which she was happy to help. We were right next to the station so... More

I stayed at this hotel for 11 nights and I couldn't be happier. The room was clean, the staff very friendly and spoke English well, and the wifi was really good in my room. If you are staying at this hotel after a stay in another part of Japan, they do accept luggage delivery and the day you check out,... More

This hotel is located on the left handside of Shin-Okubo (JR line) station. There's a supermarket on the right of the hotel. It's located at a very convenient spot where you can get Matsumoto Kiyoshi drugstore (24-hours), 100Yen shop (just right behind Matsumoto), 24hours convenient shops & so many eateries near this hotel. The only problem with this hotel is... More

We had a great time in this hotel. It's in a great location. There are Shin Okubu and Okubu stations within walking distance. Lots of cheap food shops and supermarkets close by. The laundromat is 2 mins walk down an alley. Felt very safe. Rooms were clean and spacious enough. Bathroom was small but again it was clean and hey...who... More

I chose this hotel because I could not get other hotels within my budget on the dates I wanted to stay. My stay here is at best average. Pros - Quite convenient, about five minutes walk to the Shin Okubo station on the Yamanote line. - it is located in the Korean town area - lots of supermarkets, restaurants serving... More

I got upset and I felt myself robbered when at the checked out time, after 3 nights stay, I was advised at the chech out that, after 3PM, they would charge 1000yen=10USD for EACH hour to keep my luggage storaged unattended at the hotel lobby.

Breakfast was the same everyday. It is better to book without the breakfast. The staff should not whisper when communicating with each other ~ some people may find it offensive (you just speak normally there really is no need to whisper). Location is a BIG plus point! Very close to lots of eatries/restaurants and convenience stores. Just short distance from... More

A cheap & cheerful hotel just a few steps away from the Shin Okubo station (Yamanote Line). Decent sized rooms, although the bathroom was rather claustrophobic. If you are anywhere above 6 ft tall, it's going to feel cramped - the bathroom, that is. Location is fantastic, close to 2 stations and lots of restaurants and cafes surrounding the hotel.... More

This hotel is walking distance to JR station and not far from central Shinjuku area, which is really well connected to the rest of the city and Japan in general. The room is clean, decent amount of space (for Japan) but considered small many places elsewhere. The bed is a bit hard, but to be expected.. The staff were friendly... More

The place is clean, and easy to explore from. Puts you into the action in every direction. The room though. The bed is uneven, hard is fine, but uneven and all spring is not. The a/c also dripped condensation in the room onto our clothes. Misshapen furniture for the room, very awkward.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
