We just completed a 4 night stay at Citadines. We are a family of two adults and two small children (2 and 4 year old). Thought it best to break the review down into sections... Location: Great location in Shinjuku (the quieter and less brighter side of the area) just a short walk to the underground or about a 15...

We're just back from a most enjoyable two-week stay at Citadines Shinjuku. In this review to begin with, as per many other comments, the hotel facilities and staff services are just super. Let me add a few items: the hairdryer provided in-room is tops per my wife (and she knows!); the shower water is particularly soft; bathroom is well equipped...

Stayed here for a week while on a three week vacation to Japan. Hotel is in a quiet area within a short walking distance to the subway. You can walk to the Shinjuku station in about 20 minutes. Many restaurants nearby as well as grocery stores. Rooms were clean and quiet. Coin laundry very handy. Shinjuku Gyoen park is a...

We stayed at the Citadines for two nights with our toddler. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with everything you need and a kitchen. There is a sofa bed available in our room, which was fantastic! The rooms are very vibrant and colourful. The hotel is located about 5 mins walk from Shinjuku Gyomae metro station. It is a easy...

Had an enjoyable stay at Citadines Shinjuku, with immaculately clean rooms. Having two teenage children aged 14 & 16 sharing a twin room next door was everything we were looking for. The only criticism would be the too soft and uncomfortable pillows. Staff were more than helpful and went out of their way to book a restaurant, and give us...

Apartment style, room was very well designed & had everything we needed. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. There is great supermarket just down the road. It is unusual to find one of this size in a city. You can walk to Shinjuku and JR station in about 20 minutes. There is the underground station near by if you...

The hotel had everything that we needed and was clean. It's located a ~10 minute walk from the nearest metro station, which can feel like quite a long time on a rainy, windy night in the middle of Winter, but we were able to deal with it. The room itself was good, and quite spacious by Japan's standards - we...

This is a great value hotel in a good location. Subway in easy walking distance and plenty of small local restaurant to chose from. The staff are very helpful and the rooms a good size for Tokyo. Free wifi is fast and reliable. The breakfast whilst good value is limited and the cooked food always a little cold, this is...

Huge rooms (by Tokyo standards). We stayed for a week this last visit to Tokyo and really appreciated having plenty of space, and a kitchenette. Our initial reaction on arriving was it is a little out of the way from the main action in the Shinjuku nightlife area, but though our stay ee thoroughly appreciated a 20 min walk to...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
