We stayed for a week as a family of five. We had two adjoining but not connected rooms which was not great. Each room had a double bed and a fold out sofa bed, which once made up gave very little space in the room. Rooms are quite small but have all the requirements although the kitchen space is tiny....

This hotel was reasonable. I did not stay anywhere else in Tokyo so I can not compare it but the room size was quite good with a small kitchenette. The window opened on to the view of a brick wall so this was a little strange but in all it was clean and staff were very helpful with reasonable English....

15min walk to busy Shinjuku Shopping district and 5min walk to subway. 24hrs convenience store nearby and lots of budget restaurant around. You can walk to Golden Gai and Kabuki cho if you are after night entertainment. If you are too tired to walk back from the central Shinjuku after busy day, taxi costs only around 730yen from Shibjuku station....

This was the second time that we have stayed at the Citadines in Shinjuku (first time was 3 years ago). We have 2 teenage sons so we need 2 rooms, which adds to the cost, but I still think that the possibility to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel room makes t worth it. The location is excellent, staff...

This was a nice hotel but out of the 3 weeks accommodation in Japan it wasn't one of the best. I say that mainly based on the breakfast which seemed quite mean in terms of choices compared to everywhere else we stayed. However, the room layout was very good, nice size rooms and the kitchen was a bonus. The staff...

We enjoyed our stay at the Citadines Shinjuku. With the exception of one male staff member (who was just average), everyone was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. Our studio double was a decent size for Japan, and was very clean. Our room had a small refrigerator, AC, and good WiFi. Even though our room faced the busy street,...

Hotels like this prove that Tokyo isn’t all rooms the size of closets. Our double bedroom had two good-sized closets (one with shelving and one with hangars) and a kitchenette. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was in a quiet part of Shinjuku, but occasional guest noises could be heard at night. The room was clean and housekeeping...

We recently stayed at this hotel and were very pleased! We arrived at 2200hrs and the staff were ready with a smile to check us in. It was a smooth process! We requested a high floor upon booking, which was granted - we were situated on the top floor! Even though Shinjuku is a very busy area, we could hear...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
