Synonymous with Tokyo’s unapologetically rambunctious nightlife and entertainment scene, Shinjuku is a city in its own right. With a slew of pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants from Irish pubs serving draught beer to a block of bars east of Kabukicho that preserves the Tokyo of the 1960s, there is never a dull moment in Shinjuku. The central ward is divided into Higashi (east) and Nishi (west) Shinjuku by the train lines that run through Shinjuku Station, which is merely approximately 20 minutes away from Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo on foot. The Citadines apart’hotel sits in the midst of the action, making it an ideal location for first-time visitors to get their bearings. East of Shinjuku station lies some of the city’s most iconic department stores. Each store was built and designed to cater to a specific customer, from the popular Marui or upscale Takashimaya to the always-entertaining Isetan, which is a mere 15-minute walk from the Citadines residence. Never miss a chance at exploring the basements of these shopping malls, which are often a paradise filled with Japanese snack sellers, fragrant bakeries and delicate sweet shops. To catch a breather, step into Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, possibly Tokyo’s most beautiful green space. The park is split into French, English and Japanese gardens, complete with an idyllic teahouse. During the second quarter of the year, the garden turns into a beautiful delicate pink sea of blooming Japanese cherry blossoms. Other nearby sites worth a visit include the Hanazono Shrine close to the intersection of Meiji-dori and Yasukuni-dori, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Center – an architectural masterpiece designed by noted architect Kenzo Tange, and a site for one of the best views of Tokyo. Visits to its observatory deck on the 45th floor are free. At the end of an adventurous day, return to Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo to rejuvenate. The apart’hotel offers a variety of services to suit globe-trotting lifestyles. Apartments come with a range of cleverly designed studios fitted with a modern kitchenette, separate living and dining areas, quality bed "simmons" and en-suite bathroom. To help guests feel right in home, they can enjoy full access to a comprehensive list of amenities available in-house such as a launderette, gymnasium, private carpark and breakfast lounge.

This is a great hotel for anyone who is looking to explore Tokyo. Whilst it is not in the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku, it’s About a 15 min walk to Shinjuku station which conveniently takes you everywhere. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you to the station if you prefer. There are restaurants nearby and a supermarket a short walk away. We were really impressed with the customer service from reception and the facilities/ services provided by the hotel is excellent. the gym was sufficient to keep my fitness fanatic husband happy. The layout of the rooms were well thought out with a handy kitchen area and plenty of storage. The bathroom has an excellent bathtub (it’s deep) shower is well pressured (controllable) and a wonderful heated toilet seat. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The cleaning of the rooms was excellent. We would like to thank Citadines for making our stay in Japan so enjoyable and we would definitely stay here again.

Top place to stay in Tokyo at reasonable price. Quiet. Good sized rooms and heaps of storage. We could both fully unpack. Kitchen really useful - we did breakfast in our room each day (buffet average and not really what we wanted). Used the little table in our room which then conveniently slides under the desk to create lots more space. Seven Eleven on the corner of the block - so useful. Then three minutes walk is York Food which is a proper supermarket on par with a Sainsbury (Uk) or Woolworths (Oz) So really you could cook up a storm if you wished. And then best of all within five minutes walk is Shinjuku Gyoemmae on the Maranouchi line which is just fabulous. Its a small station but it will get you direct to a lot of places eg Ginza, Tokyo station for Shinkanssen to Kyoto. The main Shinjuku station is massive and just plain scary! Loads of little restaurants nearby the hotel eg on the walk to the Shinjuku Gyoemmae and then of course all of Shinjuku central a 10/15 minute walk up the road for shopping /eating. Staff lovely. Helpful. Good advice. And when we did a trip to Kyoto for a few nights not only did they look after our suitcases for us but kept some stuff in the fridge for our return.

We stayed at Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo twice: once for our planned six-day stay, and once at the very end of our trip when we realized that a full day of travel from Kyoto to Narita would be too much and we needed to overnight in Tokyo. Both times, we were received warmly by the exceptional Tomoko and her colleagues Alessandro and others at the front desk. The property is simple but sparkling, with daily housecleaning (unlike other more budget-ish hotels) and a self-pay launderette on the ground floor. The double studio we had both times was small but not cramped, with a desk, small table, fridge, stove top, and kitchen items. The washroom had a classic Japanese soaking tub and of course a heated-seat-bidet toilet. with the sink in the open space We'd initially been concerned that the Shinjuku location would be noisy, but far from it: the property is on a quiet stretch with an abundance of 7-11s and Lawsons nearby for everything you might need in a pinch and great dining, shopping, and subway nearby. We also took advantage of the beautiful Gyoen-ji gardens a 10-minute walk away and the peaceful, hidden shrine to wartime victims of human trafficking nearby. Tomoko and the team were able to arrange for the transport of our bags to our next stop with the wonderful Black Cat/Yamata service, help us order taxis when needed, and even secure a reservation at a nearby izakaya we'd heard of on our last night -- giving us a heads-up that we might need to share our table with someone we didn't know (we did, and it was great fun). This is not a luxury hotel by any means, but the service is definitely top, and we'll happily return again the next time we're in Tokyo.

Imagine to just have to walk out the hotel, turning left and walk and suddenly you are at the Heart of Shinjuku and Kabukicho! We LOVED the location - lot's of shops close by, a bus station in front of the Hotel and a small 7/11 at the corner. We had the studio apartment and we loved that we had so much space! The room was a little bit cold ( there was a lot of draft ) but with the heating on and some fluffy socks it was good. The room also had everything we needed. Very friendly staff too! Would come again!!

Very pleasant 6-night stay with my 17-year old son. This is not a luxury hotel. Comparable to a Courtyard or Hampton Inn and I think it was good value for that level. We stayed in the Twin Deluxe. Two twin beds. Comfortable western style pillows. One firm and full, one soft. Wifi was reliable and fast. Plenty of outlets for US style charging bricks. NO USB-only charging available. Pros: - Very spacious room with kitchenette. Mini fridge, microwave, single burner, sink, silverware and dishware. PLENTY of storage in closets and cubbies. It was great not to live out of suitcases for 6 nights. - centrally located to other tourist areas: 29 mins by taxi to Akhiabara, Harajuku, Ginza, etc. - conveniences close by (7-11 steps away and a full scale supermarket just over the road) - adequate gym (bench and dumbbells up to 30 kg, bike, elliptical and 2 treadmills) - helpful English speaking front desk staff available 24 hours (oooh, that jet lag!) Cons: - after 6 pm there is nothing here. As a tourist there is nothing to see and no activity apart from 10 minutes walk to Istana or 15 mins to Shinjuku station

The staff here was SO lovely! Incredibly welcoming and helpful. We couldn't figure out the lights, and they came right up and brought a fan that we requested with them. They showed us how to use the AC as well. The room was comfortable, quiet and had a fun view of the city. We had a lovely stay. Theres a Lawsons right downstairs for late night or early morning snacks too. Its in such a busy part of Tokyo, and yet we heard nothing from outside or from other hotel guests. It was so quiet in the middle of all the chaos. Golden Gai and all of the crazy bars are so close. Its a super walkable location with easy access to everything in the area. Room stayed cool in the crazy hot summer. Bed was comfortable. Room was very clean.

Great Location, bus stop is just in front of the hotel. 7Eleven is 30 second away. Easy to get to the Shinjuku Train Station. Hotel is nice & clean. Professional & helpful staffs. Tomoko was exceptional. During the stay my wife twisted her ankle. We were panicked & stressed. We didn’t know what to do. On the top, the language barrier. We were told most of the clinics & hospital, even ambulance staff speaks and understands Japanese language only. Tomodo booked us to a private clinic where we had to do X-ray & so on. Tomodo was there with us all the time and helping us by translating. She took us there on taxi & brought us back to the hotel. She organised crutch & wheelchair to hire for our rest of the holiday. She supposed to go home and rest after a nightshift. But she spent more than 5 hours with us. She is a big asset to the company. All I can say about her is, she is an angle at least for us. God Bless her.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for staying with us at Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo. We truly appreciate that you spent your time to send us such a lovely and warm feedback. We feel very sorry that your wife accidentally sprained during your stay. We hope that she is recovering well. It was such pleasure assisting your family to make sure that everything is fine as we understand how difficult it is to communicate well when you are travelling overseas. Once again, thank you for staying with us and positive feedback. We look forward to seeing you in the near future. Sincerely yours, Guest Service Team

Stayed for 10 nights from September 2nd and loved every minute of our visit which was enhanced by staying at this hotel. We found the reception staff to always be very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was perfectly acceptable with a decent choice of pastries, cereal, yoghurt and tinned fruit etc. ( although don't expect a full UK type cooked breakfast ) The location is also very good, with a number of small restaurants in close proximity and a wider choice of bars and other restaurants approximately a 10-15 minute walk away. The hotel is also well located for access to the Tokyo Metro system, with the nearest station ( Shinjuku Gyoemmae) about a 7 minute walk from the hotel. From there you are able to travel to any part of Tokyo ( or further ) you may wish to visit. The room itself was to a good standard with fresh towels provided every day and a really comfortable bed ensuring a good nights sleep every night. The room was also very quiet, so no noise that might keep you awake. All in all, an excellent choice of hotel in a good location with very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Have stayed 4 days in this hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly. They do their best to make sure you are comfortable. The room was always clean and tidy. Cleaning staff were very efficient and are a credit to hotel. Breakfast was modest but filling with a good variety of fresh food. Good amenities and a seven eleven close by for snacks.

We stayed here for 6 nights and honestly could not fault it. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from Shinjuku Station, but there are two smaller stations located closer. The reception staff were extremely friendly and polite, and spoke impeccable English. We were too early to check in but were offered coffee and to sit in the lounge. This is an aparthotel, and the room was very spacious. The bed was king size and very comfortable. The kitchenette had a hob, microwave and fridge, and was well equipped. The shower was very powerful. We were really impressed by how much storage there was in the room - we were able to unpack fully and still had one fully unused cupboard. The hotel itself was very quiet - we did not hear anything while in the room. There is an option to add breakfast but we did not book this. Overall, an excellent stay - would thoroughly recommend!
