Synonymous with Tokyo’s unapologetically rambunctious nightlife and entertainment scene, Shinjuku is a city in its own right. With a slew of pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants from Irish pubs serving draught beer to a block of bars east of Kabukicho that preserves the Tokyo of the 1960s, there is never a dull moment in Shinjuku. The central ward is divided into Higashi (east) and Nishi (west) Shinjuku by the train lines that run through Shinjuku Station, which is merely approximately 20 minutes away from Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo on foot. The Citadines apart’hotel sits in the midst of the action, making it an ideal location for first-time visitors to get their bearings. East of Shinjuku station lies some of the city’s most iconic department stores. Each store was built and designed to cater to a specific customer, from the popular Marui or upscale Takashimaya to the always-entertaining Isetan, which is a mere 15-minute walk from the Citadines residence. Never miss a chance at exploring the basements of these shopping malls, which are often a paradise filled with Japanese snack sellers, fragrant bakeries and delicate sweet shops. To catch a breather, step into Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, possibly Tokyo’s most beautiful green space. The park is split into French, English and Japanese gardens, complete with an idyllic teahouse. During the second quarter of the year, the garden turns into a beautiful delicate pink sea of blooming Japanese cherry blossoms. Other nearby sites worth a visit include the Hanazono Shrine close to the intersection of Meiji-dori and Yasukuni-dori, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Center – an architectural masterpiece designed by noted architect Kenzo Tange, and a site for one of the best views of Tokyo. Visits to its observatory deck on the 45th floor are free. At the end of an adventurous day, return to Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo to rejuvenate. The apart’hotel offers a variety of services to suit globe-trotting lifestyles. Apartments come with a range of cleverly designed studios fitted with a modern kitchenette, separate living and dining areas, quality bed "simmons" and en-suite bathroom. To help guests feel right in home, they can enjoy full access to a comprehensive list of amenities available in-house such as a launderette, gymnasium, private carpark and breakfast lounge.

There are 3 ways to get to this hotel:
1) Walk from Shinjuku Station with luggage and this takes around 15 minutes.
2) Get taxi from Shinjuku Station and be dropped off across the road from hotel, some luggage will be in boot and from seat, cost 1100 yen.
3) At Shinjuku Station get a local train to Shinjuku-Gyommae station and it is a short 7 minute walk to hotel.
The check in process was quick and easy and given keys to our room . When we entered the room it was not quite what we expected but better. It had a small kitchenette where you could prepare your own meals. The room was a nice size also so you could move around with ease even if there was luggage. There was a glass sliding door to separate the bedroom from the rest if the room .
The bathroom was a good size also so you could move around easily with no problem. The wash basin was separate to the bathroom but next to it.
At one stage we decided if could change our room from 2 single beds to a queen bed. We went down to reception to ask and were surprised when the staff member said it could be done as long as become an Ascott member and said why not and then were able to change our room.
There are some nice cafes close by, when you come out turn right and you will see Gusto Tendo which is on Level 2 and if you turn left at the next street there is Cocochiyo and Dotour. Close to Gusto Tendo there is a 7 11 store where you can buy your snacks, drinks ,sandwiches.
There is a breakfast buffet at this hotel and it costs 1320 yen and off is open from 7:00am-9:30am on weekdays and 7:30am - 10:00am on weekends. Only discovered this on our last day.
The hotel reception will call a taxi for you if you ask them when leaving to make it easier for you to get back to Shinjuku station but they will take you to the bus terminal which has a lift so that you can get to the station. If you prefer can book a Limousine bus to the airport but have to do it at least 1 day beforehand and it costs 3200 yen per person.

The Citadines Shinjuku hotel is in a quieter area of Shinjuku. We stayed for 5 nights and could not fault the hotel room which was very spacious for Tokyo standards. The apartment allow you to cook if you want and there is a fantastic supermarket about 5 minutes walk from the hotel called Ito Yokado (much much better than 7/11 and Family marts for precooked foods). Hotel is also very close to metro station and only 2 stops by metro to Shinjuku station. Would highly recommend this hotel. Also don't miss a visit to the Shinjuku Gyoen (national gardens) only a 10 minute walk from hotel.

The hotel is an excellent choice for staying in Tokyo, as it has an unbeatable location in one of the best spots in Shinjuku, close to the main attractions (such as Kabuchiko, Golden Gai, Samurai Museum, the stores and Shunjuku station). Even if the area is kind of chaotic, the hotel was very well preserved and clean, room is spacious (for Japanese standards). As it's a walking distance away from so many restaurants, bars and places of interest, it's a no-brainer for any tourist or traveler who wants to experience Tokyo.

Stayed for 10 nights from September 2nd and loved every minute of our visit which was enhanced by staying at this hotel.
We found the reception staff to always be very friendly and efficient.
The breakfast was perfectly acceptable with a decent choice of pastries, cereal, yoghurt and tinned fruit etc. ( although don't expect a full UK type cooked breakfast )
The location is also very good, with a number of small restaurants in close proximity and a wider choice of bars and other restaurants approximately a 10-15 minute walk away.
The hotel is also well located for access to the Tokyo Metro system, with the nearest station ( Shinjuku Gyoemmae) about a 7 minute walk from the hotel.
From there you are able to travel to any part of Tokyo ( or further ) you may wish to visit.
The room itself was to a good standard with fresh towels provided every day and a really comfortable bed ensuring a good nights sleep every night.
The room was also very quiet, so no noise that might keep you awake.
All in all, an excellent choice of hotel in a good location with very friendly staff.
Highly recommended.

Back in 2012 (when it was my very first time visiting Japan), this was the hotel I stayed at. Fast forward to 2024, and I'm back and stayed for 5 nights with my sister.

I had very positive experience with the frond desk staff in 2012 so I knew we'd be in good hands with the current front desk staff. Our booking included breakfast for 2 people so we won't have to think too much about where to eat, when we focused on our day-to-day itinerary.

It is located in the quieter part of Shinjuku and just 7 minutes away from the Shinjuku Gyoen-Mae station (very convenient if you want to go to other parts of Tokyo). Not too far from it is the shopping district where Isetan, Uniqlo, H&M, MUJI, Sanrio, Kinokuniya (and several Lawsons, 7-11s, Familiy Marts) are located. It is also close to Shinjuku Golden Gai for those interested in going to bars/izakayas at night.

Also, do not miss going to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden to take advantage of a large greenspace within an urban area.

We booked a room with 2 twin beds and all the amenities were comfortable, clean, and well-organized. Their laundry room has 4 washers/dryers and we were able to do our laundry without any issues. We plan to stay here again in our visit in the future.

We stayed at this hotel in the Shinjuku area for 5 nights in May. We had chosen this hotel for the large rooms compared to the standard and I must say that we enjoyed our stay very much: very friendly staff, clean and spacious room with an excellent kitchenette for breakfast in the morning. Coffee and tea always present, slippers and various facilities in the hall (brushes, shampoo, creams, etc.). There was a bathtub but it didn't bother us at all, overall we had a very good time. The hotel is in a quiet area, you can walk to the Marunouchi line subway to avoid the confusion of Shinjuku. Seven eleven very close, I recommend it.

My partner and I were expecting the rooms to be tiny but in actual fact they were pretty good by Tokyo standards! The rooms were clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. We had breakfast at the hotel included. This was nothing special by normal hotel standards as far as range goes but we were happy with what was provided and it did the job.
There is a 7-Eleven store right next to the hotel and only a relatively short walk to the main part of Shinjuku and train stations.
Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Second stay to this hotel. First was in 2016. Still a great option for those who want to stay close to Shinjuku. Large rooms by Japan standards. Firm but comfortable beds with two pillow options. Staff on hand were very helpful with local restaurant tips and assistance with transport.

With hundreds of hotels to choose from in Tokyo, we were glad to have chosen this one. The rooms were large and well furnished, with comfortable beds and loads of storage space. Our room was cleaned and beds made every day. The location was wonderfully convenient as Shinjuku-gyoemmae metro station was just a few hundred metres away, as was the magnificent Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. We could also walk to Shinjuku Station in about twenty minutes, or take the bus from just outside the hotel. We were far enough from Shinjuku Station to not be bothered by noise or crowds.
What stood out for us was the helpful and professional service from reception staff, including storing our luggage for a few hours and calling a taxi for us on the day we checked out. Would highly recommend!

We stayed here for 6 nights and honestly could not fault it. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from Shinjuku Station, but there are two smaller stations located closer. The reception staff were extremely friendly and polite, and spoke impeccable English. We were too early to check in but were offered coffee and to sit in the lounge.
This is an aparthotel, and the room was very spacious. The bed was king size and very comfortable. The kitchenette had a hob, microwave and fridge, and was well equipped. The shower was very powerful. We were really impressed by how much storage there was in the room - we were able to unpack fully and still had one fully unused cupboard. The hotel itself was very quiet - we did not hear anything while in the room. There is an option to add breakfast but we did not book this. Overall, an excellent stay - would thoroughly recommend!
