We had the pleasure of staying at both the Conrad and the Park Hyatt Tokyo in October 2014. The Park Hyatt starts with a lobby on the 41st floor. To get there you pass through a lounge with a magnificent 270 Degree views of Tokyo, including Mount Fuji. Check in is personal, no counter. The room we got on the...

The hotel is in a very high rise, modern tower. We gently asked for a room with a nice view and, to our surprise, we were assigned a room with a fantastic view over Shiodome Tower! Staff were really helpful and professional. The room was minimalist but comfortable and extemely quiet - the bathroom was relatively small but had lovely...

Stayed as a couple for 5 nights in June in one of the standard rooms, it was a perfect introduction to Japan and Tokyo in particular- small but practical and very clean, funky toilets with good bath accessories. We didn't have such a great view from our floor (I think it was 30something) as there was an office block opposite....

Thank you very much for staying with us at Park Hotel Tokyo and we are pleased to hear that you had enjoy going to the Tsukiji Fish Market! Tokyo Park Hotel in Shiodome's Mediatower is a very good location for sightseeing trips around the metropolitan area of Tokyo. Shimbashi station (JR Line and Metro) is only a short walk away and connected underground so that even during the typhoons and rain periods you are very flexible. It is no problem to find excellent dining options around. Tokyo's variety...

Tokyo seems to have a dearth of hotels in the upper middle (or lower luxury) category. The choice often reduces to the extremely expensive global brands like Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, etc., or smaller and much more basic "business" hotels. The Park is an excellent alternative between these two poles. It is modern, well-designed, clean and well-located. The staff is, as usual...

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
