We booked a trip through Agoda and received a confirmation email and booking reference number. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that our booking has been cancelled and that our only option is to rent a room that is twice more expensive. They told us to deal directly with bookings.com. As my wife is pregnant and it...

The hotel is located across Shinagawa train station in a very good area and that's a great advantage. On the other hand it definitely needs renovating, especially the rooms. This might explain why it's still at a very reasonable price. Very nice staff although very few of them speak English. Thank you Google translate. Ask to have a room with...

Very good location close to Shinagawa railway station it's a plus. Unfortunately I had small room with small and old looking bathroom. If this is the standard needs an improvement. Breakfast had a good food choice but medium quality.

It was one of the rare times that I am staying in a hotel outside of Shinjuku & the reason why I've picked this was for its location. Just a 2 - 3 mins walk from the Takanawa Exit of Shinagawa Station - which serves as one of the major stops for Shinkansen, the hotel is conveniently located. There are...

I used to live this area, so I am familiar with the area. So, I booked this hotel for 3 nights for our family trip to Tokyo. The location is wonderful, right in front of the Shinagawa Station, Takanawa Exit and one of the Wing Takanawa buildings is attach to the station and the other one is located next to...

2-3 min walk from JR Shinagawa station. Very big room (32 m2). We had a twin room for 5 nights. Friendly staff, reasonable price if book early. Had washing machine, dryer we love it to wash our cloths. High floor away from train station is quiet.

Been here at least 20 nights between 2013 to 2015. Rooms are still decent in size by Japanese standards. The breakfast is average, has many options around the hotel for eating and for drinks. Shinagawa station is at walking distance, across the road. This hotel (Earlier, Pacific) featured in one of the Murakami Novel, I would say a bubbly place.

This hotel is just a road across from Shinagawa station but rooms are very small. There is no room service and neither they provide complementary water bottle. Expensive hotel but no value. Rather stay in other hotels in Shinagawa.

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
