Odeo Onsen is a large complex in Odaiba island. Easy to reach by public transport, it is also popular among the tourists. The entry price is a bit high but worth. If you want you can rent your own room with food service, small sauna and a tub. In public areas you can wear their traditional clothes but in pool...

There is not much onsen facility in Tokyo. So this "Ooedo Onsen Monogatari" onsen facility can save your trip to travel outside of Tokyo and yet can provide you a true place to relax and enjoy of onsen, the hot spring bath. The onsen facility is big, clean and well managed. There is indoor and outdoor onsen. There is also...

A hot springs theme park...with a minimum of non-Japanese. One enters, gets a robe, and is off to a variety of spa and food options...not to mention entertainment and games for the children! We soaked our feet in the hot springs, and paid to have tiny fish nibble the dead skin off our toes! We had foot massage, and lunch...

This onsen was a bit on the pricey side, but it had awesome amenities. The restaurants in the center were perfect. You could truly spend a day there relaxing and recuperating from a busy Tokyo vacation. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The tooth brushes came with tooth paste already in the bristles - neat! Highly recommend to my...

I went there on a Tuesday. I arrived around noon. I picked this day as it was the day during the week with the fewest guests. It's easy to get to via the yurikakmome line. There is plenty to do when you get there. I got my yukata, changed into it and proceeded to enjoy some of the facilities such...

It was totally freezing in Tokyo when it rained with strong wind even in March. Me and my friend cancled what we planned , and went to this Ooedo Onsen Monogatari just to avoid cold weather. It was best decision we have made in Tokyo. The inside of the building was like a little time slip to old times of...

This was our second onsen in Japan. We visited with our 8 and 6 -year-old kids. It was so different from our first onsen experience just outside of Kyoto (that one was at the base of a mountain - very peaceful and zen) This one was crazy..... an onsen on steroids! There were maybe 1000 people there! Everything is highly...

Easily accessible from central Tokyo, I took a sky train line to get there. Relaxing experience with hot and cold baths, steam sauna, outdoor hot baths. One of my best memories from Tokyo. I was there in mid December, with fresh winds and sunshine outside, and it was great sitting outside in the hot steamy water with the wind in...

You have to change into Japanese bath clothes after you get into the venue. It is fun that the place is decorated as a old Japanese style street. There is many kind of small booth for sushi, noodle, BBQ food and sovenairs inside the venue, and the Japanese bar just opened up to 1:00am so you can have drinks with...

This felt like a truly authentic cultural experience. I have never experienced a bathhouse before, so maybe not as interesting for others. I was so interested by how this is a "bring the whole family" venue. But not only families, but troops of young friends, couples on dates, as well as a sprinkling of tourist. There are clear instructions throughout,...

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
