Stayed here for a couple nights, while in transit to other destinations in Japan. It is part of the train station in Akabane so there is some train noise but we didn't feel it was too bad. Comfortable beds, free internet, and free breakfast at "Denny's" on the 2nd floor, food was quite good, IMO much better than USA Denny's!... More

Spent one night here on business. Small rooms as in so many other places in Japan. Decent bathroom. Comfortable bed. Difficult to get the temperature correct in the room. Very basic English spoken in the Reception. Breakfast in Denny's on 2nd floor - nobody speaks English there which leads to misunderstandings. No real wi-fi.

H and I stayed at Hotel Mets Akabane for 6 nights as we were working at an event in Saitama and this was the most reasonable property we could find with good access to the venue. The hotel is located right at JR Akabane station with the reception on the third floor. The rooms are compact as this is a... More

The hotel is very easy to access. It locates right in front of Akanabe JR station. There're many restuarant and shopping places around the hotel. The hotel room is great, clean with all necessary amentity. But there's no wifi in the room, only LAN to be used and only connected with my computer. During my stay, they provide 3 kinds... More

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I traveled from the USA and it as my first experience in Japan. I stayed in the deluxe double room and enjoyed the size of the room. I heard from other travelers that rooms at many other hotels were much smaller, so I was very happy with the hotel. The rooms are clean... More

Rooms were small but not by Japan standards. The amenities were plentiful, as expected in Japan, and the room is well maintained. Full access to the train lines and ready access to all that Akabane has (restaurants, shops etc.). All in all I'd stay there again.

Staying in Akabane / Itabashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Akabane / Itabashi
In Akabane and Itabashi, visitors can get a glimpse of the ordinary day-to-day life of Tokyo. On the east side of Akabane station, there are many traditional shopping districts and small izakayas, while on the west side, there’s a modern shopping mall. Itabashi is currently being developed as a residential area with a huge 1.1km long shopping street that extends from east to west. Rows of shops and izakayas target the down to earth everyday needs of locals. Both Akabane and Itabashi are notable for their easy access to the city center as well as their proximity to Ikebukuro.
