I could be a snob and start with what a shame it is that the long-ago architectural marvel was destroyed to make this concrete and plastic monstrosity. Service is wonderful but the standard rooms are pokey and vintage 1970s, the bathrooms prefab plastic and the whole feel worn out and tired. Given the room rate you would expect something more...

I stay here regularly. I typically prefer Starwood hotels, but The Imperial gives you a better cultural feel for Tokyo, and has a terrific location. Reminds me of The Plaza in NYC, with it's old world feel. Interior a bit dated in style, like the Plaza has been. Fantastic staff. My one annoyance: Workout room only opens at 6am, which...

Absolutely loved my one night stay here. I am currently travelling home with a broken leg to have surgery after a skiing accident and stayed here. The room was clean, big and very well presented. Was very convenient for hobbling around on crutches too! So impressed. The staff were very helpful and helped me in and out of wheelchairs, taxis...

The rooms are excellent, but old in style and little changed in the the 20 years I have stayed there and of a decent size for Tokyo. The wifi is very good and the bar is full of character but also full of smoke haze so unpleasant if you are a non-smoker - we could only stand one drink which...

I used to travel to Tokyo frequently - but about ten years ago. The Imperial was a nice hotel in a premium location near the Ginza and Imperial Palace Gardens. The design was Frank Lloyd Wright which was interesting but not very Japanese to be honest. I get the history, but it felt more like the Imperialist Hotel than the...

It is a luxury hotel, with 18 bars and restaurants, plus your minibar in the room...You have the principle building (where you have suits and imperial suits) and the tower building for others but still with large rooms with a view either for the imperial park or the town. The room is large, with excellent equipments, including a retro radio...

Just a fantastic hotel In the heart of Tokyo. Rooms are exceptional and well appointed. Service is second to none compared to virtually any hotel around the world. I always love a hotel with history and no other hotel in Tokyo has more history than this one. Highly recommend.

A first rate hotel in Tokyo. Fantastic service and facilities. Ideally located for attractions, shopping, restaurants, and the Tokyo Metro. The staff are courteous and welcoming. English is widely spoken. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. A fantastic stay.
