The hotel has a good location. From Akihabara JR Station, take The Central Gate exit and turn right. The hotel is half a block away. The A/C was working unlike other hotels in Japan and was working well. Very good wifi. Now, the reasons why the lost a couple of stars. The room was very small. I understand that this...

The location is great for those interested in the Akihabara "otaku" culture of video games, arcades, etc. The room was small, but had everything we needed, including great wifi. The front desk was awesome-- made us a reservation for dinner, got us umbrellas, held our luggage for our travel day. Definitely recommend for a quick stay for a couple!

I booked this hotel as it was close to the office I was visiting for the week (Akihabara UDX) so very conveniently located and right next door to the station for public transport. As per other reviews the room was pretty small but that being said it had all of the facilities and functions that you would need and the...

Me and my husband stayed in Tokyo for 6 nights. The hotel is nice, it's not spacious..however that is Tokyo for you! Location is great as the Akihabara train station is right next to you which is the main JR line. So getting to places like Shibuya etc are great. We had room only as there is a Starbucks next...

Hotel is located right next to the Akihabara JR and subway stations which are the easiest ways to get around Tokyo. Hotel is also right in electric town and surrounded by tons of restaurants. The room itself was incredibly quiet (despite being over the top of the train tracks). It was small (but that's to be expected in Japan), but...

The hotel is very near the JR Akihabara station. Exit from the central gate and turn right. The lobby is on the 6th floor of a shopping complex where many restaurants and shops (Uniqlo, Muji) are located. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast is on the second floor. Only gripe is they serve the same items everyday. So...

The hotel is less than a minutes walk from the main JR station and local subway. A short walk to electric town and main anime/manga streets. The rooms even came with a massage chair, although too was small for my 6 foot frame. Rooms were a little small but one of the bigger bathrooms I've stayed in Japan. No in...

Our second stay at this great hotel. Just a few steps from the train station (no noise from trains in the room even though we had the Akihabara view right next to the tracks). Check in was fast, easy, and friendly. Room is small but has all amenities. Shower is great! Super hot water and great pressure. Staff is five...

We stayed in a room with a full bed. I'm not sure if all rooms have a similar size to ours, but once our two luggage bags were opened, there was barely enough room for us to move around. There is a massage chair in the room, which is a very nice touch, but I would prefer the extra space...

Perfect location. 5 minutes walking distance for restaurants, shopping, leisure, etc. Nice hotel. Very small rooms (is Japan). Very good bed. Good breakfast. Very friendly staff. Amenities and gadgets in the room. Toilet like a space ship. Extremely hot water in the shower, take care!. Safe.

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
