About a 7-8minute walk from Akihabara JR station to this hotel. Only 2 minutes to the Ginza Line subway station. Very good location! Room wasn't as small as I thought it would be considering it was a moderate Semi Double and was quite clean & Comfortable. The rooftop onsen was fantastic to enjoy. Indoor & Outdoor pools were a great...

What's not to like? A minutes walk from the Ginza line, a short walk to the heart of Akihabara. Great staff. Great Onsen. The room was tiny as is often the case in Japan but it had a great layout and atmosphere for its size. A great onsen is better than a big room any day.

The staff is friendly, the rooms were immaculate and comfortable. They were also on the larger side for Tokyo! An in house cook serves free ramen nightly and the rooftop onsen is magical after a long day. I hated to check out!

Having previously stayed in Himeji Dormy Inn (and loved it) we took a chance and stayed in this hotel! It was lovely - great staff, superb evening noodles and great location! Again, the onsen was incredible with a sauna and a few outside baths, one with a TV. It's a small hotel but that's part of the charm! The only...

5-10 minute from the station. The indoor and outdoor baths was a nice way to relax from a days shopping and sightseeing. For Japanese, the outdoor bath had a large TV tuned to a Japanese channel. A dry sauna was a nice addition in the onsen. Another nice perk was a nightly treat to ramen from 9-11 pm. Printed instructions...

This was our first time visiting Japan and this Inn definitely left a good impression on us. If I'm ever staying in Akihabara again I would definitely re-book here. We experienced great customer service, the onsen was very relaxing to be in, our room was a good size for 2 tiny ladies, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the toilet...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights while exploring this area of Tokyo. Pros: - great location (along the Ginza line) - good efficient service - free breakfast (Japanese or Western) - complimentary ramen in the evening (delicious!) - hot baths (interior and exterior) on the top floor Cons: - dated interiors in need of modernising - unpractical room...

Thank you for staying at Dormy Inn Akihabara. Thank you again for giving me valuable opinions. The Ginza line is very convenient to go to the famous city of Tokyo. You can go to Tokyo Station, Ueno, Shibuya, Ginza, Omotesando etc. without transfer. The room is a bit small, but there is a public bath, ramen service. Thank you for...

Nice place however the 'western breakfast' menu needs to be revisited as not one of the items in the meal was anything I’d ever eaten for breakfast. It was some kind of weird soup, a sandwich and vegetables. No toast, cereal, muffins, eggs or anything like that available. I’m not fussy, anything western would have been fine, I don’t even...

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
