We had a great nights stay at The Bell Hotel. The staff were all very friendly, professional and couldn’t do enough to help. The team have worked hard to put lots of measures in place to keep people Covid-secure and were very patient and polite in helping people to follow the new rules. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and clean. We had an evening meal and Sunday lunch and both were fantastic - the food tasted great, it was well presented and reasonably priced. We can’t wait to come back.

Change of ownership since our last visit but the welcome was as good.
The breakfast arrangements were modified as their kitchen was being upgraded. We breakfasted across the road and were reimbursed the bill. It was our 50the anniversary and we were treated very well with glasses of Prosecco to keep us in the mood. All in all excellent sojourn.

Over night stay for a short break. Lovely village, no food served in any venues on a Monday but our hosts kindly set up the dining room for us to have a take away Chinese - so wasn't too much of a problem. Very good value drinking and friendly service in the bar. All clearly set up for covid control.
Really warm welcome, and able to check in early. Didn't have the twin beds we asked for and it was a warm night but with window open it was not too bad. Very quiet village for a peaceful night.

We arrived when Sunday lunchtime was busy has entered property the smell of oil was sickening. We were told that room was not ready and staff was apologetic because of sickness short staffed. We decided to have drinks and Sunday lunch. We were told beef was succulent and tender and chicken was nice. We had to get our own cutlery we noticed there was no covid precaution in place. Lunch was served vegetabls were uncooked and beef was tough dry. Chicken was deep fried and tasted of old oil was not eaten. Keys came for room was not shown to room just told. Room at £ 90 a night ensuite fixure and fitting were out dated curtains hanging off pole we replaced these. Bed basic budget matteress very uncomfortable even when they had put a matteress topper on which wss stained on the corner. Extractor fan very noisy so used my phone torch has the annoying while it automatically turned off. Breakfast next day self service except cooked part sausage deep fried could not eat hard. Definitely need to update with decorating this establishment and regular oil changes i would not return again

I had a three night stay at this hotel and will not be going back. The hotel staff are friendly however the room was shocking. The toilet seat broke twice as was wrong seat for the toilet. Damp on ceiling. Curtains held together with string so when tried to open then kept unhooking left them closed in the end. Gap under the bedroom door plugged with a towel. And on first day bathroom light was broken so it flashed on and off. The carpets in the hallways are filthy and the extractor fan in the bathroom was filthy. Bedroom was over the function room. No sound proofing so sound was awful and once the function over had to listen to the staff clearing up . Noise stopped at 00:40! Decor very dated and bathroom door kept jamming. Towels were thread bear at edges! Paid £70 a night !

My wife, myself and dog attended for a long weekend. First impressions excellent cool welcome pack even thought of dog. Rooms clean tidy and would be happy to spend full week. Nice park two minutes walk for the dog. Fully loaded with equipment and anything you need. Home from home.
Took couple of photos on arrival of floor as there was some damage in living room and I didn't want to get caught for that. It was just wear and tear and did not detract from how nice this cottage is. Pub had disco on one night didn't hear a thing during or after.
I felt the pub itself was a bit of a let down no idea what happened but guess there have been changes in management and it shows a bit. Nice Sunday carvery but not well attended, but food great. Service great but locals loud and put me off a bit.
Local chippy great, and local shops provide all needs with just a short walk from cottage. Skegness short drive away our first time here and I have to say surprised to see skegness so low in recent survey of seaside towns. Want to go back to cottage and skegness.
Would recommend to anyone long weekend or for a week.
Read some reviews and I think some people are just picky, Boiler/heating easy to operate. It did get a bit chilly in evening. My only question I would raise and seek clarification on is the garden 'is it for all the cottages or just the Church View cottage'
Looking forward to going back one day hopefully with some nice weather.

Lovely cottage, very cosy. Just at the back of the pub. Very quiet , nice pub and Chinese takeaway is a 2 minute walk. Local bus service also good if you don’t want to drive. Massive garden, would definitely go again

The deluxe room was a good size, but was not very clean, and not very deluxe. Bath panel was broken, and the shower was inadequate. It said ‘caution hot water’, but it took ages for any hot water to come through, and it never did get hot in the shower. Food was just okay, although the staff were nice. I don’t think we will be staying there again.

Unfortunately we do not permit dogs in any of the hotel rooms. We have 2 cottages that are dog friendly as well as the main hotel bar.
