We stayed 2 nights at Laguna Mar and found it to be a nice place to stay, but a bit over-priced for how simple the accommodations are. The pool area is as beautiful as advertised, however, the rooms are quite basic and the bed is a bit uncomfortable. Also, the breakfast that is included is just toast and coffee, which...

I was visiting friends in Playa Coyote and needed a place to stay with my young family that would be convenient and affordable. I stumbled upon Hotel Laguna Mar by accident (wrong turn) and saw what appeared to be a basic three star hotel on the outside. Entering inside, my opinion changed completely. It is a stylish, clean, and updated...

This small hotel was a great find. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and you are very near several wide deserted beaches. The hotel is located in a small Costa Rican village which has a small store and another establishment serves pizza. If you want some flavor of the country with your...

A real gem set in the middle of nowhere with a deserted 3 mile silver sand beach within a mile. This 5 year old small hotel is set around a small warm pool and hot tub. The rooms are smallish but well furnished and efficient. (Indeed the chambermaids deserve prizes for their artistry with linen.) But the real jewel in...

Really enjoyed our stay here. Once again the people make the place, it is a nice building and facilities but some great staff running it. We ended up with a flat tire and the bartender found a pump and got us sorted! Thx Andreas, really above and beyond! They have double rooms for kids accommodation, even bunk beds. Don't hesitate...

“I think the rooms on the upper floor would be better than the ones on the ground just for the view and added privacy. Our room was right beside the pool and on ground level with the walkway, so we had to keep the curtains drawn most times.”
