What a lovely pub serving excellent food. Service very good. Chef visited table which was nice. We had the 'nose to tail' dish....a must for all MEAT lovers. Burger and chips was also tasty. Made room for pudding (just). Drinks very reasonable priced :)

We went to The Royal Oak on a Friday night. All our food was delicious, well presented and the service was excellent. One of us had the chicken and ham pie, 2 had steaks and I had a huge portion of ribs. All very good. We told our adult kids to go there for Sunday lunch and they said it...

Called in here as part of a National Holidays package. The staff greeted us warmly and dealt with our food and drink requests efficiently. The place is obviously kept well with facilities being spotless

Went to the Royal Oak for some dinner , and as usual, we were not disappointed! - went for the specials board - Ox Cheeks braised in red wine with wild/field mushrooms, horseradish mash, and broccoli on the side - a delicious hearty winter dish - couldn't fault it at all ! - we even had snow falling outside and...

We have dined here in numerous occasions as a local treat and I recommend the roasts and suet pudding - yum yum There are new owners who have made significant changes to the look and feel of the pub especially the new wood burning stove. Hearty portions and always a lovely selection of vegetables Well seasoned and reasonably priced- would...

Visited here and the good was lovely ...nice decor lovely roaring fire... Big portions extremely tasty and the staff were lovely. The only downside was it was very quiet when we were there at 6.30pm. Would go back.

We came across the Royal Oak purely by accident whilst on holiday on the are. In search of a lunchtime snack in the unpretentious bar, we happened to spot the menu in the dining room and decided to give it a go. We were amazed by the quality of the food! I had the fish stew which was rich, packed...

We held our grandson's christening at The Royal Oak yesterday. We had about 75 guests, including children and toddlers. The pub is situated in a lovely village where our daughter also lives. The pub is stunning inside and the garden wonderful on a sunny day, which we lucky enough to get. Chris and the girls were amazing throughout, nothing was...

I think that the people in charge had only fairly recently opened up the renovated rooms to guests, and it didn't feel as though they had quite got things together. There were some fairly basic items missing from an otherwise very attractive and comfortable room - like a table for the tea-making kit, which was on the floor, as were...

Thank you so much for your kind review the rooms themselves have indeed only just been opened and your comments on the shortcomings are absolutely justified , tables and hair dryers are in fact on order and we expected them to have been there by the time of your visit , the pub has been under new ownership for just...
