We broke a Puebla - Oaxaca journey in Tehuacan overnight at the Gran Hotel (which was indeed) to see the "Helis Bravo Hollis" Gardens at Zapotitlan in the early morning. Local buses every 30 mins to Zapotitlan no longer leaves the Zocalo but 4 blocks south on "Centanario" between Calle 5 & 7. The bus passes the Cacti BioReserve and...

We have stayed in this historic grand hotel for one night. The room we had was small but comfortable. The hotel is in walking distance of the zocalo and city. There us safe carparking. It has a lounge and bar to eat and drink. The pool looks very nice but we did not have time to use it. A great...

The Gran Hotel Mexico is a great base in Tehuacan. It is mid-way from the AU bus station and the zocalo. We used it as a base for going to the biosphere reserve in Zapotitlan Salinas to see the amazing cacti. This hotel seems built in two parts: one from the 1890s and the other very mid-century - both being...

Arriving exhausted from the Puebla airport bus (which the terminal is around the block an easy walk to Hotel), I was welcomed by staff & given choices of rooms (that was nice). Next morning (as i did every morning) I ate a delicious light breakfast. I lounged by the pool, swam (a little cool) but hey it's Winter. 30 degrees...

This is one of the nicest, well priced hotels in the central valleys of Puebla. Simple, conformable bedrooms in an exquisite old building. Right at the center of Tehuacan. The Breakfast is also exquisite (i tried the chilaquiles) but not included in the price of the room.

My dad, Dr. Agustin Paredes, is from Tehuacan so I know the town and the area well. After my grandmother sold her house and after my dad sold his house around 1990, we spent all our visits at the Hotel Mexico. Centrally located, it's a quick walk to the theater, restaurant, the zocolo, the marketplace, and many other places. The...

I have stayed here twice on the last years, I trully recomend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a true mexican style and familiar hotel. I prefer traditional hotels instead of chain properties without soul and personality, Gran Hotel Mexico in particular is situaded in the city center and near all city atractions. Manteins the colonial style decoration...

I stumbled upon this hotel in June 2012 without a reservation. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel. The hotel is very historic looking and quaint. Everything about our room was satisfactory, minus the part that there was a window in the bathroom that was open and it opens to the kitchen. I noticed the window was open after...

During the visit to this city of Tehuacan, we found this hotel just one block of the main square downtown. It is a hotel with many ammenities, nice pool, big suites. The only but we can say is that you enter into a 1970 enviroment. Decoration, furniture and everything makes you think you are entering in another epoque.

This restaurant, founded in the 1890's (and according to reception has always been a hotel, in the same family) was clean, spacious, friendly and very convenient. Gated guarded off-street parking. Nice looking pool area (though very low water at this writing; signs indicated they were doing repairs). Located one block from the center plaza. Town appeared simple and clean. Easy...
