My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this place. Everything was clean and of good quality. The beds were big and comfortable. Nicola was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was tasty and good value. He gave us lots of information on local history and tips for many excellent hikes in the area. This refugio is the best place to stay if you want to see the real Gran Canaria. We felt very welcome, and I shall recommend this place to my friends. Probably my favourite holiday accommmodation I have ever stayed in. Thank you!

We loved the place! It's hidden in the small village El Hornillo, in a former school building. Nicola, the owner, made simpel, but absolutely delicious meals for us every evening after we came back from the long hikes. He can tell you all about the area, the mountains and the most beautiful hikes around. Breakfast was great also:) If you are looking for a place to escape all the tourists and see the real Gran Canaria, to hike and to enjoy nature, I would absolutely reccomend this place! Would love to come back here again.

The hotel is located practically in the mountain wall with a great view over the ocean and the valley to the north! Rooms were clean, people were nice and the owner was very friendly and helpful with tips for great hikes nearby (I went to Risco Faneque, insane views from there).

I hope I am not an orthodox thinking that staying somewhere should be an experience. And what a great experience this place is! It’s in the middle of nowhere, very high up the valley that stretches from Agaete. Road access is only from the top. But while there you’re have everything you need - there’s a kitchen with good food and a bar. Beds are comfy, and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back.

We stayed here for two nights after the Airbnb we originally planned to stay in had been double booked. The owner couldn’t be more welcoming, he is lovely and makes you feel at home right away. Food is absolutely delicious. Rooms are really lovely. Shared bathrooms are clean, spacious and private - doesn’t feel shared at all. Views are breathtaking across the valley. The owner can recommend some amazing walks nearby.
