Sadly, I didn't. I've never written a review before either... There are good points about Castello di Vicarello, the rooms, the pools, the grounds and largely, the staff but... It is remote - and I expected this to be a positive but when as a family with three children, you are left feeling un-looked after and very hungry indeed -...

Mrs. Rea, In response to your review, please know we tried very hard to please you and your family during your stay. Concerning your complaint about the quantity of food, after we had learned of your dissatisfaction, my staff brought you a large plate of extra pasta for the kids. I then sent you a plate of fruit with my...

Tuscany is beautiful in itself but add to that scenic splendour the most beautiful castle - you really are in heaven! With two pools to choose from, and often practically to yourself given the small number of rooms, you can't go wrong. One, an infinity pool with incredible panoramics the other hidden behind the fabulous vegetable patch and gardens -...

Castello di Vicarello is just wonderful. Set in the most breathtaking Tuscan countryside, it's the gorgeous home of Carlo and Aurora Baccheschi Berti, who, together with their winning team, have created the most perfect Italian retreat. Everything is quite beautiful -- the stylish Bali-inspired rooms, the infinity pools, the yoga space, the immaculate garden, the rooftop used for dinner, the...

Beautiful 15th Century Villa on a very high hill in southern Tuscany. It's really 3 separate buildings in sort of a compound. 2 beautiful pools.: Both infinity pools. One with a view over the rolling hills and the other hidden in the olive groves. Low-key spa with massages and Yoga. Rooms are all 5 Star and many have adjoining sitting...

I stopped two days while I was moving around for business, and I must say that I felt one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I've seen many places and luxurious restaurants in my life but I was fascinated a lot by this BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL PLACE ( One of latest untouched corner of Tuscany ). I recommend...

I was looking for a place in Tuscany to spend my one year anniversary when I came across this site via an Italian B&B website that wasn’t even in English. There isn’t a month that goes by that we don’t think of our trip to that gorgeous residence. Of all of the traveling we’ve done since, this hotel is one...

My family and I had heard about Castello di Vicarello for many years from friends from all around the world. Because of the positive comments, we decided to end our 2010 European summer vacation there. Castello di Vicarello requires very specific directions and is difficult to find in Poggi del Sasso, but once you wind your way up through the...

We were absolutely amazed by the beauty of the Castello and its surroundings, which we visited in September 2010. It is difficult to imagine a more charming and delightful place. After having waited 15 minutes (too long) to find someone at the reception, Mrs Aurora, the owner, welcomed us very friendly and let us visit the castle accompanied by her...

I feel conflicted about writing another glowing review for Castello di Vicarello because I don't want this gem to be discovered ... my fiance and I had such a wonderful time there this month, we are already planning to come back for our honeymoon. It has been difficult to go back to our regular lives after being pampered there for...
