it's the second time I go there and it's getting better and better. they are improving it to perfection. the food, the friendly atmosphere, the genuine living, the sense of peace, freedom and relax .. are the qualities that impressed me the most. they have attention to details and make it so easy that as a guest I enjoyed the...

I visited La Chiusa for the first time in 2007, and was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the area -- and the FOOD! Umbria and the Niccone Valley are certainly not as well known to Americans as Tuscany, if you want to get off the beaten path and away from the hordes of tourists, I absolutely recommend spending a...

If your looking for a rustic retreat where you can just kick back in beautiful countryside but with an extra twist than La Chiusa is the place for you. The food, the atmosphere and the location are beautiful and the hosts Masha and Luca top off the whole experience. This is a place that is every inch the making of...

Modern Italian life in many of the large cities does not resemble the traditional life that makes Italy a unique experience. To learn about La Dolce Vita, you must live it and to live it you need to visit La Chuisa. The sweet life that takes effort but that is done with love is what we experienced at La Chuisa....

Nestled in the beautiful Niccone valley, La Chiusa is a truly magical place. Deep enough in the countryside to be a real escape, but still accessible to some of the most stunning areas of Umbria and Tuscany, you can really feel the cares of the world ebb away from the moment of your arrival. The warmth of Masha’s welcome and...

Masha and Lucca, the couple who own and run La Chiusa, welcomed us through the door of their restaurant and into their home. We had a simple, spacious and delightful room where we (me, my wife and our little seven month old boy) slept like a dream following a magical day swimming and wandering by the river, the chicken runs...

This was, by far, the best bargain that we encountered in Italy. The antipasto alone was worth the trip, but the first, second, dessert and house wine were off the charts good. Best house wine we had in Italy, and it was $8 euros per liter. Kasha, the owner, was a pure delight. Be forewarned: the place is very hard...

We own and run a agriturismo in Margaret River, West Australia so we like to stay at similar places to our own property. We also do a lot of research before we holiday. La Chiusa was a home away from home. It was peaceful and relaxing at La Chiusa and Umbertide is a lovely small town just 10 minutes away....

Very friendly staff, nice large rooms, reasonable price. We did not eat there, so I cannot comment on the food. Breakfast was very good.

We have lived and travelled around the world and "La chiusa" remains one of our favourite places. Giovanni and Masha, the owners, are delightful hosts. The food is exceptional, Masha only uses the freshest of ingredients picked from their garden and it is nothing less than divine! The tranquil location, high in verdant hills overlooking the fertile Niccone Valley, is...
