Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I had a lovely 3 day stay in their big family room at the back where it is quiet and has undercover parking. The king size bed was very comfortable, the water hot and there were 3 single beds and a connecting door which would be good for a family. It is an old motel and looks it from the front, the back room was basic, but comfortable and warm in the cold night with a quiet air conditioner, which they must have expected us to use as the there was only one thin cover on the bed. The motel is a short drive from the Five Ways at Lavington and off the highway. This is a motel and was not serviced every day due to covid, but provided plenty of toiletries.

Green Door is one of the cheapest motels along the Hume Highway, where you need to set expectations for the price point. The key point to consider is the value provided where I was happy with the motel for the price. It is a budget motel where there are nicer motels in Albury if you are prepared to pay over double the room rate of the Green Door.

I booked a room for 3, and received a room out the back section with a double, 2 singles, plus a couch, some crockery, a fridge and a microwave. The bathroom was clean, but the decor / tiles gave it a 1970s feel. The tiny basin was difficult to fill the kettle, where the hot and cold and on separate taps (i.e. no option of a 1 tap warm water blend), although the room had plenty of towels, soap and shampoo provided. One interesting aspect of the motel was the lack of a reception, where the check in / check out / wifi instructions were sent via SMS, requiring the collection of the key from the safe.

Be warned, the bed was crawling with these horrid creatures, now my clothes are infested! I’ve traveled extensively and never in my life have I been woken by bugs crawling on my hands. I cannot begin to tell you how upsetting this is, was offered another room, noooo thank you. How could one room be infested, I couldn’t get out of there fast enough

The experience I had with this motel was great . The owner Danni was extremely helpful and polite on the phone and provided everything I needed for the self check in . The parking at the rear was nice and safe and secure , undercover . And the room was nice and clean and comfortable .

We stayed at the Green Door Motel for four days and found it to be excellent value. In fact the Green Door is probably the best value hotel in Albury.

Our room had been recently decorated and contained everything you need. The WI-FI was particularly good, and much better than is normal in budget hotels in Australia.

The hotel is on the edge of town, so you need your own transport to stay here, but if you are looking for good value and comfort, you’ll find them here.

I arrived at midnight after driving from Melbourne.

First impression - this place could be the set of a horror film.

Very out dated and worn out. Felt a bit itchy in the bed even with no covers on.

At 2am I was woken to the sound of water dripping. Sounded like it was from the roof and gutter onto a plastic bucket outside. So after about 1.5 hours of sleep I left just after 2am.

What a waste of money.

The first thing we noticed driving in was the feeling of impending doom! This place was dodgy. Would we even get out alive?

The room was very outdated, uncomfortable beds and couch, spiders on the walls and barking dogs in the premises.

In one word ... DON’T
