Distance lends enchantment and we had this in mind when we booked a 3 day break in his hotel, last visited 30 years ago with small children, as a stopover on 2 separate occasions. We had lovely memories of a beautiful, quirky and very typically French hotel run by a warm and friendly couple who made us so welcome. We... More

Elegant and quirky at the same time. The building is beautiful and they have furnished it with style - perhaps on a tight budget, but very imaginatively. We loved it. The loo was ingeniously tucked into a corner of the room, with a sliding concertina door, with the whb/shower in the opposite corner. Not ideal, but no real problem. Just... More

Disappointing ... very tired and grubby looking. No license for alcohol and no food other than meagre breakfast of which croissants were stodgy and cold, coffee served in grubby flasks and cups chipped. No decent restaurant within walking distance. Recommended to walk to La Guingette which was like a kids theme parc with numerous bars and foods served amongst loud... More

Les Fontaines is a lovely hotel in need of a lot of tlc. Our room was large and clean with a large separate loo and bathroom. Breakfast was typical French and local. Perfect location opposite Loire river walking and cycling track. Only minutes from Tours.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Les Fontaines for two very comfortable nights. We had twin beds (we usually use queens), but they were very comfortable. The hotel is older, so we had a bath and sink in one area, and a separate toilet and sink in the other other, making it convenient at times. The breakfast was quiet... More

We stayed at this "Chateau" the week of Sept 16th. I read the reviews, but decided to give it a chance. The outside is lovely, parking the car was easy. Once inside, I met the owners. English is minimal, and it was hard to communicate. Our room on the second floor had twin beds, and a bathroom. The ceiling had... More

Stayed here as we were attending a family wedding in Vouvray we booked 5 rooms and all of the family were pleased with the rooms, lovely peaceful place and you can see the evidence of the owners working to improve the rooms. Very friendly staff and very helpful would stay here again when visiting Tours.

We were visiting our daughter in Tours and wanted a comfortable inexpensive hotel near her host family's home. The exterior of the property is lovely -- an old chateau set back from the main road. The staff is relatively friendly but the hotel is VERY tired and the beds are horrible. Our room was non-smoking which was great but the... More

We stayed here as a stop over from Bordeaux to break up he journey home. The hotel is dated and could do with a little makeover, but we discovered that the owners had bought it a year ago and were in the process of doing so. They were very friendly and helped book us a table at a local restaurant... More
