The rooms are kept clean and, although pets are allowed, the staff do their best to make sure the rooms do not smell of animal.
We found the food to be excellent and the staff very welcoming and friendly. We were served and looked after by a young lady called Kyrie, lovely girl always had a smile on her face, who made sure we were comfortable and satisfied with our service.
The outdoor area was a pleasant area for us to have our evening meal.
The play area is a great place for entertaining children whilst the parents enjoy a meal & drink.
We would recommend The Leagate Inn to anyone visiting the Lincolnshire area for it's comfortable rooms, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.

Stayed one night with my husband and we had dinner, bed and breakfast. The food, ambience, service and room all 10/10. Just a bit miffed at breakfast. I went for the Florentine/Royale Benedict (which was delicious btw) although I was a little disgruntled to be informed on checking out that I had to pay an extra £3 for the salmon. The waitress pointed out that with the American pancakes the menu states that if you add bacon there is a £3 surcharge and this should also be written on the menu in relation to the Florentine/Royale Benedict but was omitted at print. It wasn't the waitress' fault although she did forget to point this out to me. For the small amount of salmon that I did receive I didn't think it justified paying an extra £3. My other grievance about breakfast is that there wasn't any other extras. Usually you order your main breakfast and whilst you are waiting for that to be cooked you can help yourself to breakfast cereals, croissants, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts etc. There was nothing extra. At £130 per night I felt a little disappointed at any additional cold options. They were on the menu but they looked like alternatives rather than options included with the hot breakfasts. Overall, it is a lovely place and we did enjoy our stay.

A privately owned inn offering a pub ambience and comfortable large bedrooms and excellent en-suite showers. Breakfast is very good and there is a reasonable dinner menu should Coningsby by too far away (a mile or so). Welcoming and charming

We were asked to pay in advance for our room which we thought odd. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly and shown to our room walking through very scruffy corridor.Broken stair rails chairs and tatty carpet. The bathroom was only partially decorated with paint coming off the walls! The supper was good, bed was comfortable but breakfast next day was appalling. No cereal,, fruit ,every thing was extra although supposed to be included. The menu was extensive but the avocado on toast was a green scraping on a piece of toast it was inedible11 We left straight away and went elsewhere for breakfast. I think it could advertise itself as somewhere to eat apart from breakfast but certainly do not stay there!!!

We only stayed one night. Ground floor room.

There's a lot to like about this place. Room was very well furnished, spacious and comfortable and felt quite luxurious. Good beds. Even the very small things - like complimentary Yorkshire teabags instead of cheaper alternatives. So first impressions were excellent and overall it did the job for us as a single night overnight stop on a longer journey .

We have knocked a few stars off for 2 reasons.

First, our shower didn't work. Cold mostly - only way to get it lukewarm was to drop the pressure to a trickle. Mentioned this when leaving and management were surprised as apparently it had just been fixed. But there are negative comments about the showers in several reviews so it looks like this does need fixing, properly.

Secondly, we've stayed in many old buildings with creaking floorboards...but here at the Leagate Inn the creaking floorboard noise from above/the first floor was off the charts. The people above weren't stomping about either, they didn't have kids running around, but the noise as they moved about their room was extraordinary. We were laughing about it, though I doubt we'd have seen the funny side if staying more than one night. For that reason, I'd caution anyone against accepting a ground floor room (also, the beer garden was right outside which didn't bother us at all but might bother some).

A very warm welcome for ourselves and our dog.
The room was amazing, beautifully furnished and decorated with a great bathroom. Tea, coffee, biccies and bottles of water in the room, along with toiletries in the bathroom.
Had an evening meal which would not be out of place at a fancy London restaurant. .
The breakfast was superb and plentiful.
My husband asked for the nearest pharmacy and the staff were concerned and asked if we required medical support.
Special mention for Lucas as he went above and beyond during our stay and very knowledgable of the menu and drinks.

The Leagate Inn is a good base from which to explore Lincolnshire and the wider region. Our room was very spacious and clean. The shower was fantastic although we did have a minor blip with it on our final day when we couldn't get any hot water (we did find a way around this eventually). The Duck Island toiletries were gorgeous and added a touch of luxury.

We ate at the Leagate throughout our stay as the choice and quality of food and drink was very good. The owners have made a great effort to create a selection of menus that include something for everyone. It's also a good choice for free fromers as there is a separate Gluten Free menu and a separate Vegetarian/Vegan menu as well. The food at breakfast was excellent, especially the homemade porridge.

The garden is a lovely place in which to enjoy a drink on a sunny day. We were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy this experience at least once, complete with aerial display from nearby RAF Coningsby. Whilst this was quite something to see whilst enjoying a relaxing drink, it's not so great when they're practicing night flights in the early hours; so we would recommend ear plugs for light sleepers just in case.

Everyone was very welcoming, polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We left feeling very happy that we had chosen to stay at The Leagate Inn.

Came across this place while visiting the area, we stopped for lunch. Couldn’t have been happier with the staff, the service and the food. Lovely outdoor area, our dog was made very welcome with a bowl of water on arrival. Great play area for the children. Really good kids menu. My husband had scallops to start and I had the cauliflower, children had steak and fish. I had pork for main course and my husband had veal stew. The actual restaurant itself is steeped in history and very quirky but spotlessly clean inside and out. Music playing in the garden which was a nice touch. Very relaxing few hours, staff very attentive but not OTT. So good our children asked if we could go back the next day for lunch as the ice cream was ‘to die for’ so we went back for Sunday lunch and the food this time was even better! Best roast pork I’ve ever eaten. A real little gem, just a shame we live over an hour away! But we will certainly be back x

This hotel is pretty much perfect - a lovely old building that has been beautifully renovated, with plenty of car parking and outside space to sit (and for the kids to play). We had a twin room which was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We also had a really good dinner on a Sunday night - great food served in a very friendly and professional manner by the staff (who were excellent throughout). They have plenty of vegetarian options, and the pea/spinach risotto was cooked perfectly. Can highly recommend this place!

Stayed for one night in the “Griffiths Room”

This is a traditional inn dating back to 1542. Low beams, open fires and all the rest. It’s a really characterful place. The restaurant at The Leagate enjoys much popularity with local diners, and as such found parking difficult on a Saturday evening despite the large car park. If eating here it is advisable to book your table a few days ahead.

Rooms are newly refurbished to a luxurious standard. Ours was clean, comfortable and very spacious with a lovely roll top bath, although WiFi rather slow (10mbps download as tested). Much as we loved the finish of the bathroom, the marble floor in the shower was slippery and my partner (mobility impaired) would have appreciated a handrail to hold onto. As expected some noise from drinkers outside on a warm evening until the pub closed, but road noise the biggest problem, even though our room didn’t directly face the road.

Excellent dinner in the restaurant. Fairly limited menu, but usually this means good food. And it was! Much the same with breakfast, good food but cooked only.
